The action started with the player in the hijack opening to 250, and finding a call from Michael Kanaan in the cut-off, and Tony Tartaglia in the small blind.
The board came down and the three players checked, as the fell on the turn. Tartaglia threw out a bet of 1,100 and was snap-called by both opponents, as the completed the board.
Tartaglia casually threw out 800 and was called straight away by the player in the hijack, as Kanaan mucked his hand. Tartaglia rolled over for ace-high, as his opponent tabled for a full house and the pot.
Over on table 33, only five players have taken their seats. Of the five, Mishel Anunu, Amanda De Cesare, Jie Gao and Martin Kozlov occupy the first four seats.
In a recent hand, and with the board reading , Kozlov threw out a bet of 1,600 from the big blind, which De Cesare called. Both checked the river, as Kozlov tabled his for a missed straight, as De Cesare showed to take down the early pot.
It will be interesting to see which other player's occupy the remaining few seats.
The ANZPT Repechage will have a slightly different structure compared to the usual ANZPT’s. Players will start with 20,000 in chips and play 13 levels on the Day 1 flights. It will be 30 minutes for the first four levels and then 40 minutes thereafter for the remaining levels.
The first group of players have taken their seats, and after an introduction and rundown of the day’s procedures by the event’s Tournament Director, the cards are up in the air for the commencement of play.

The next stop in Season 5 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour, will see players have three chances to progress through to Day 2, because of the unique repechage format. Players will kick things off by investing their $1,100 buy-ins starting tonight, and if they happen to be eliminated, can try again tomorrow, before a third and final attempt on Saturday.
With a guaranteed prize-pool of $750,000, and already most of that covered by online qualifiers, it will be interesting to see if we can reach the coveted $1 million mark by the end of the three Day 1 flights.
