After almost 12 hours of play on Day 2 at the PokerStar.net ANZPT Melbourne Repechage Main Event we have reached our final table!
The day started with many skilled and recognizable players taking to the felt and when all was said and done the final nine wouldn’t disappoint with the likes of young Australian stars, Michael Kanaan, Daniel Neilson and Francis Craib all present at the final table.
Going into the final table we have Fabian Craib heading the chip-counts after starting the day amongst the top-ten chip counts, while Michael Kanaan managed to battle his way to a monster stack to just be trailing Craib, after starting the day as one of the smaller stacks.
Also present on the table is Iori Yogo, who by making the final table in this event, has passed Dejan Divkovic as the current leader in the race to be crowned the ANZ Player of the Year for Season 5.
Another player to keep an eye on is Anthony Hachem, son of the great Joe Hachem. After finishing Day 1b with the chip lead, he kept his composure throughout Day 2, and with a large rail following him in the last few hours of the night, didn’t disappoint as he cruised to the final table.

The last hand of the night saw Fabian Craib open to 125,000 from the button, with Dave Allen next to act. He thought for a minute before moving all in for 1,100,000 in chips. Craig snap-called and both players tabled their cards.

Dean Francis opened the action to 125,000 before Ian Thomson announced himself all in from the button. Fabian Craib was next to speak and he didn’t need a count as he quickly called to see Francis scamper out of the way.

. Thomson survives to double to 1.7 million with Craib wondering what might have been as he slips to 1.8 million.
Moran No More

Shane Moran was looking for a rebate when he three-bet shoved all in from the small blind after Michael Kanaan opened with a button raise. The total was 505,000 and Kanaan decided to make the call with

to deliver a flush to eliminate Moran in 11th place for $10,975 in prize money.

Shane Moran opened the pot with a bet of 170,000 and was called by Michael Kanaan in the big blind. The flop came down , and Kanaan checked. Moran quickly grabbed a stack of 25,000-chips totalling 500,000, and slid them into the middle. The over-bet took Kanaan by surprise, as he went into the tank for several minutes.
