Chrisanthopoulos Eliminated

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

The action started with Kwang Nguyen opening to 75,000 from under the gun, before being met with an all-in for 456,000 by Michael Chrisanthopoulos. Nguyen took his time in making his decision, before finally making the call, as both players tabled their cards.

Chrisanthopoulos: {A-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Nguyen: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}

The queen appeared in the window as the flop fell {Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. The {4-Diamonds} gave Chrisanthopoulos some hope to snatch victory with a diamond on the river, but the {6-Hearts} completed the board to see him eliminated in 19th place.

Brabin Holds

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Luke Brabin has been grinding the short-stack for most of the day. He finally had enough and committed his last 100,000 from the button and was called by Tom Karadimos on the big blind.

Brabin: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Karadimos: {6-Clubs}{10-Spades}

“Hold, just hold!” pleaded Brabin, as the dealer spread out the {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

A good time for a double, sees Brabin move back up to 220,000 as Karadimos drops to 280,000 in chips.

Naftaly Hits the Rail

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Day 1c chip leader, Edo Naftaly, has just been eliminated from the tournament, after a betting war pre-flop saw all the chips go into the middle. Michael Kanaan was the beneficiary of the chips, as his {a-Spades}{K-Spades} was too strong against Naftaly’s {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} as the board ran out {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Kanaan welcomes back some chips, as he moves back up over one million in chips.

Moran Climbing

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Shane Moran started things off with a bet of 65,000 from under the gun. Michael Kanaan then opted to raise to 135,000, and was called as the flop came down {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

A quick check from Moran gave Kanaan an opportunity to make a continuation bet, which he did, for 105,000. Moran then announced raise, sliding out 350,000 in chips. Kanaan didn’t last much longer, mucking his hand.

All Bases Covered for Kondevski

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

With the flop showing {j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, Tony Kondevski checked from the big blind. Fabian Craib bet out 40,000 from middle position, sending Kondevski into the tank. A minute passed before he raised to 135,000, bringing a quick all-in from Craib. Kondevski almost beat him into the pot, as both players tabled their cards.

Craib: {J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Kondevski: {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}

Craib was dominated by the kicked and the flush draw, and when the turn and river came out the {9-Spades} and {9-Diamonds} he paid Kondevski off.

Moran Takes out Boyd

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

It’s taken forty minutes of play this level to lose just two players with the second of those eliminations falling on the short-stacked Stephen Boyd.

The action started with a button raise from Shane Moran to 60,000, before Boyd moved all in for another 113,000 on top. Anthony Hachem folded his big blind before Moran made the call.

Moran: {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Boyd: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Boyd was in front and it took until the river to run him down as the {8-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs} board brought a straight for Moran to eliminate Boyd from the tournament.

Karadimos Doubles

Level 20 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

We arrived at the table to see Tom Karadimos all-in with his last 155,000 committed, and getting called by Shiun Wei Hii. Karadimos was in front with his {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} against Hii's {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and was able to hold as the board ran out {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} to see him move back up to 330,000 in chips.
