Walch Doubles After Cooler Flop

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

A bit of a cooler of a flop has seen Justin Walch and Patrick Mahoney clash in a huge pot on Table 17. The flop was {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{J-Spades} when action checked to Walch who bet. Mahoney check-raised another 30,000 on top but Walch moved all in. Mahoney quickly agreed to call.

Walch: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Mahoney: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}

Walch held top pair but Mahoney was drawing huge with his open-ended straight flush draw.

The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and the river the {J-Diamonds} to improve Walch to a full house to rake in the double.

Kroesen Found What He Needed

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The remarkable double ups keep coming as this time it was Ricky Kroesen who joined in the fun. Kroesen got his stack in the middle with {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} to be racing with Patrick Mahoney’s {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}.

The flop landed {10-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} to see Mahoney spike an ace to see Kroesen stand to his feet in preparation of his departure from the tournament.

The {6-Clubs} changed nothing, but the {Q-Hearts} river gave Kroesen a straight to better Mahoney’s two pair. Kroesen is now up to 250,000 and looking more comfortable on a tough table that also includes Stev Lackovic, Aaron Lim and Sal Fazzino.

Johnson Doubles with Ten-High

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Lorinda Johnson has just landed a remarkable double up with her ten-high enough at showdown to collect the pot!
The chips went in on the turn with David Lim leading out before Johnson moved all in. Lim made the call with {4-Spades}{5-Spades} for a straight draw as Johnson’s {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flush and straight draw now didn’t even need to hit to win. The river was the {a-Clubs} to leave ten-high as enough to rake in the chips!

Both players are sitting with about 160,000.

Larkin Moving Up

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Richard Larkin has survived an all-in clash with Lorinda Johnson. Larkin’s tournament life was on the line with {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} with just one overcard to Johnson’s {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds} but he was able to connect on the board of {3-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}.

Larkin climbs to 140,000 with Johnson, one of two remaining female players, now back to 90,000 chips.
