Patrick Mahoney opened from the cutoff with a raise to 20,000 and action folded to Scott Davies in the big blind. Davies had been quite active recently and he three-bet once again, making it 46,000 to go. Mahoney called and the flop landed

Davies checked and Mahoney bet out for 36,000. Davies made the call and the turn brought the . Both players checked to see the land on the river.
Davies tapped the table for a third time and Mahoney took a few moments to cut out his bet amount as his stack consisted of mostly blue 1,000-denomination chips. Eventually he slid 55,000 into the middle, but Davies instantly verbalized a call.
Mahoney knew he was beat as he waved 
in the air, but Davies threw down a monstrous 
for top set!
Mahoney is down to around 175,000 with Davies continuing on his merry way at the top of the chip counts. He’s now up over 800,000.

Richard Larkin is the latest on the rail after picking an unfortunate time to make his move. The hand started with a raise from Brian McAllister before Larkin moved all in for 139,000. Action folded back to McAllister who gleefully called.

Patrick Mahoney opened with a min-raise to 20,000 and Ricky Kroesen thought for a few moments before tossing out a call. Action was then with Stev Lackovic who glanced at Kroesen’s stack before committing himself all in for 198,000. Play passed back to Mahoney who moved all in over the top to force a quick fold from Kroesen.

“Saved!” chirped Kroesen as he was able to avoid a clash with the overpair, while Lackovic found himself racing for his tournament.
The board ran out 
to brick the board and leave a despondent Lackovic on the rail in 13th place. Meanwhile Mahoney is playing the rush at the right time as he’s now up over 650,000 in chips.

When the action folded around to Tamara Volkoff in the small blind, she would jam for 79,000 holding 
. Unfortunately for Volkoff, Vesko Zmukic woke up with in the big blind and snapped it off, having around 100,000 in chips.
