More Players Than Action

There hasn't been a whole lot of action to report of late. Johnny Chan opened with a raise but was forced to fold when Nam Le came over the top, but Chan recovered some chips by moving all in himself soon after to collect the blinds and antes.

Meanwhile David Steicke continues to do his thing, and recently took a small pot betting the flop of {J-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. His opponent was Wei Will Ma and he soon got out of the way as Steicke flashed {5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the flush draw.

"Look, it was developing!" laughed Steicke as he rakes in yet another pot.

Steicke Still Getting Cards, Just No More Customers

Andrew Scott opened with a raise from early position to 9,000 and the action folded to David Steicke in the cutoff who raised it up an additional 18,000. The action passed back to Scott and he went into the tank.

"Why did this hand have to be against you David? Anyone else I would call but you are the one I didn't want to go to war with!" sighed Scott.

Scott gave it up and Steicke flashed {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}!

Eric Assadourian then berated the dealer with tongue-in-cheek, "Of all the players here you had to deal pocket kings to HIM?!?"

This is What Passes for Action Right Now

Quinn Do made it 8,500 from the cutoff and was called by Johnny Chan, who was in the big blind. Chan checked a flop of {7-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {10-Spades} over to Do, then folded to Do's bet of 13,000. Do showed the {10-Diamonds}.

At the rate play is proceeding, producing the bubble boy is going to require an absolute cooler of a hand to be dealt. But with US$25,000 at stake, who can blame the players?

The Machine Keeps on Grinding

David Steicke is at it again. He called a preflop raise to 9,000 from Nam Le, then bet 10,000 on a flop of {6-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {5-Spades}. Le turned off his noise-canceling headphones but asked Steicke no question before mucking his hand. Steicke obligingly showed the {9-Clubs}.

"Never miss, huh?" said Eric Assadourian. "I know what I'm going to call you now. David 'Never Miss' Steicke. That, or 'Always Hit'."

"When I play against you, I either completely miss or hit the nuts," responded Steicke. He paused, then added, "At least the decisions are easy."

Scott's Third Raise Produces a Winner

Andrew Scott opened for 7,000 before Wei Will Ma made it 20,000 for late position, folding the blinds. With action back on Scott, he announced, "Raise," appeared to do a few calculations in his head, and then made it 45,000 to go.

Ma asked for the pot to be spread, and everyone wondered if perhaps this was the moment. It was not. Ma said, "Ok, I guess you have it," and folded.

"I was screaming in my head, 'Call! Call! Call!'" said Scott.
