Adieu, Liz Lieu

Liz Lieu eliminated
Liz Lieu eliminated
While we were watching the bust-outs of Eric Assadourian and Tony Dunst, we noticed Liz Lieu stand up from her table and exit the tournament area. There were no chips at her seat when we walked by; her tournament is over.

Dunst Dusted

Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst
Tony Dunst has been eliminated after getting involved in a big pot with John Juanda. After a three-bet preflop, the board landed {9-?}{7-?}{3-?} where Dunst committed his stack with {A-?}{K-?} but Juanda had him covered with pocket jacks.

The turn and river bricked out sending Dunst to the rail and jumping Juanda up to 29,000 chips.

Eric Assadourian Eliminated
Eric Assadourian has been eliminated from today's tournament. Sitting in the small blind, he called a raise to 900 from the player on the button, Kofi Farkye. One other player called as well for a three-handed flop of {8-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. Assadourian led out for 1,000, folding one player but soliciting a raise from Farkye to 3,500. Assadourian quickly shoved all in. Farkye called with {8-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds}, a hand well behind Assadourian's pocket kings. The turn {A-Diamonds} was no help to Farkye, but he spiked a {6-?} on the river to make a straight and send Assadourian to the rail.

Farkye now has 57,000.

Grunter Gone

Grant Levy Eliminated

Just prior to the break 2007 APPT Grand Final Champion was sent to the rail. He committed his short stack on a flop of {2-?}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} holding {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a flush draw but his opponent flipped over pocket kings for the best hand.

When another king hit on the turn, Levy found himself drawing dead and heading to the exit as his opponent made a full house.

Dunwoodie Heads for the Exit

Thomas Dunwoodie is going to have to find something else to do in Macau for the next few days. He got all in on the turn of a board that read {8-Clubs} {5-Spades} {3-Clubs} {A-Hearts} and was called by an opponent who tabled {A-Spades} {8-Spades}. Dunwoodie had outs with {A-Clubs} {7-Clubs}, but couldn't catch a club when the river came {7-Hearts}. He is out of the tournament.

Assadourian Up To Old Tricks

On a flop of {2-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts} the action checked to Robert Dobbs who fired out 700 from the cutoff. A player called from under the gun, before Eric Assadourian popped it up to 2,000. Dobbs folded but the UTG player called again.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and it was checked to Assadourian who fired 3,500. His opponent thought before flashing the {Q-Hearts} and folding his hand. Assadourian raised his eyebrows and showed the {4-Spades} as he raked in the chips to move up to 19,200.

Rivera Leads From The Front

WSOP Bracelet Winner, Anthony Rivera
WSOP Bracelet Winner, Anthony Rivera
With some big name international professionals highlighting our field today it's interesting to note that our current chip leader is actually a WSOP bracelet winner, but perhaps one that you may not have heard much about. Anthony Rivera took down arguably one of the toughest bracelets at the 2008 World Series of Poker -- the $10,000 Mixed Games World Championships. That event saw Anthony battle 191 world class players over eight different variations of poker to capture in excess of $480,000 in prize money.

Rivera has landed in Macau keen to impress in the Asian region as he strives to add an APPT title to his blossoming poker career.
