hit the turn and against Flourentzoo decides to lead with a bet of 3,000. The button player this time flat-called.

The river was the {4-Spades}

and Flourentzoo fired out a healthy bet of 10,000. The button then moved all in for his last 12,000 chips and Flourentzoo made the call with {Q-Hearts}

for trip nines. However it wasn't good enough as his opponent flipped {A-Clubs}

for a better kicker. Flourentzoo is down to his last 9,000 chips.

Things haven't gone well for the world champions in Sydney. Peter Eastgate is the latest one to reel from a hit to his stack. It was a five-way pot that had been raised to 900 preflop by an early-position player. Eastgate was in the cutoff. On a flop of {2-Clubs}

, the preflop raiser made it 5,000 to go. Only Eastgate called.

On the turn {6-Diamonds}

, the early-position player went all in. Eastgate called with an overpair of jacks, but he was up against a bigger overpair of kings. There was no help for Eastgate when the river fell {6-Clubs}

. He's down to about 9,000 in chips.

Lind Claims Comer

On a board of {4-Clubs}

George Lind led out with a bet of 3,600 from the small blind. The big blind raised to 8,000 before Mike Comer moved all in for 10,350 in total. Lind then reraised to 15,000 and the big blind made the call.

It was a huge pot and all three players tabled big hands. Comer showed {A-Diamonds}

for two pair, the big blind showed {6-Spades}

for a rivered gutshot straight, but Lind held {10-Clubs}

for a better straight to collect the pot and send Comer to the rail.

Siu Rivers Rockets

After a series of prelop raises, Jimmy Siu and his opponent finally got it all in on a flop of {10-Spades}

. Siu had tank-called on the flop, holding a powerful {K-Diamonds}

but he was in trouble as his opponent revealed {A-Clubs}

.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds}

but the river gave Siu the two-outer as the {K-Hearts}

landed to send his disappointed opponent to the rail. Siu is now up to 71,000 to be amongst our chip leaders.

Huxley's Massive Overbet Nets 100K Pot Against Milinkovic

"I had a wet dream about this hand last night," said Jay Huxley.

At a request from the Shout Box, we went looking for Brad Milinkovic on Table 29. We found him sitting on just less than 60,000 and involved in a hand against Jay Huxley.

With 2,700 in the pot preflop, the dealer spread a flop of {10-Diamonds}

. Huxley looked at the flop and announced, "All in." That wouldn't have been odd, but for the fact that it was a massive overbet of 47,900! Even more odd was that Milinkovic didn't even wait for a count before saying, "Call!"

Huxley: {10-Spades}

Milinkovic: {7-Diamonds}

Milinkovic rapped the table in frustration at his bad luck, finding himself on the short end of set-over-set. The turn {4-Diamonds}

gave Huxley a bit of a sweat, as he had no diamonds. But the river was the case ten, {10-Clubs}

, for yet another case of quads.

"I'm going for a walk," joked Huxley. "I'll see you all at about 8pm."

When the stacks were counted down, Milinkovic had to pay off 47,900 to Huxley, who also picked up the preflop pot. Huxley now has 98,500, while Milinkovic slipped to about 9,000. A few hands later, Milinkovic got all in with kings against queens and had his kings hold up to double to roughly 20,000.

Kagawa Forces Full House to Fold

We just caught a hand where high-stakes player Masaaki Kagawa was able to capture a huge pot after forcing his opponent to lay down a monster hand.

The flop was {K-Spades}

and Kagawa had raised his opponent's bet to 3,800 to go. His opponent called and they saw the {Q-Spades}

hit the turn. Kagawa's opponent again led out with a bet of 4,000 and this time Kagawa just flat-called.

The river landed the {A-Diamonds}

and it was checked to Kagawa, who swiftly moved all in sending his opponent into the tank. It was 16,275 to call but after several minutes of thought he decided to let it go, folding pocket deuces face-up! Kagawa got the full house to fold to collect a nice pot and is now up to 38,000 chips.

Late registration is closed -- the final tally of entries into this event has been calculated. There were 108 players on Day 1a, 172 players on Day 1b, and 197 players today for a total of 477 players across all Day 1 flights. 48 players will make the money, with the player who finishes in first place winning AU$1,000,000.

118 players made it through to Day 2 from the Day 1a and Day 1b flights. We're expecting about 80 to 85 players to make it through today, making the combined Day 2 field approximately 200 players.

Another Case of Kings into Aces

It seems like we've seen kings run into aces more frequently than normal in this tournament. Today Sam Higgs was the unfortunate player with kings, and Jimmy Siu was the one with aces. All of the money went in on a low flop, and Higgs was never able to improve. He's out of the tournament, and Siu is now near the top of the leaderboard with approximately 51,000 chips.

Hachem Steaming

Tony Hachem's day is going from bad to worse as he now finds himself with only 2,900 in chips.

The board was {7-Clubs}

when Hachem fired out 1,500 on the river. His opponent made it 4,000 and Hachem made the call. His opponent tabled {A-Clubs}

for the nut flush, sending Hachem into a frenzied outburst of expletives!

Moneymaker Chops the (Second) Nuts

We have three world champions in the field today. Chris Moneymaker, the 2003 world champion, is the shortest of the three. He got his stack in on a board of {K-Hearts}

and was called, but it wound up being a split pot. Both players made a nine-high straight, Moneymaker with {8-Diamonds}

and his opponent with {J-Clubs}
