Guitteau Goes Crazy

It seems that the majority of the major action this morning has centered around one man - Gerome Guitteau.

He was involved in two more major pots recently.

In the first he got involved in a battle of the blinds with Simon Watt. Watt made an opening raise from the small blind and Guitteau made it 10,000 from the big blind. Watt four bet back over the top from the small blind to 20,000 and Guitteau called.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Watt bet out 25,000. Guitteau came over the top for 55,000 and Watt moved in for about 26,000 more. Despite seemingly being pot committed Guitteau went into the tank.

He was asking a lot of questions in his thick French accent and eventually moved in the call and tabled his {A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for Ace high and no draws. Watt was ecstatic "YES!" he said as he rolled over {j-Hearts}{10-Spades} for top pair.

The board completed {2-Spades} turn, which gave Guitteau a couple more outs, and {9-Clubs} river.

The pot takes Watt up to about 200,000 in chips. Guitteau dropped to 70,000.

A moment later he called the all in bet of fellow Frenchman Herve Gael on the wrong side of {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} vs {A-Spades}{a-Hearts} only to spike a set on the {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts} flop. The board completed {5-Hearts} turn and {2-Spades} river to move Guitteau back to about 100,000 in chips.

Ramakrishnan Craker'd

Daniel Craker

Catching the action on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, the action checked to the defending champ, Daniel Craker in the cutoff position, who fired out 12,000. Raj Ramakrishnan made the call from the small blind as a third player stepped out of the way.

The pot was already juicy when the {J-Hearts} fell on the turn and Ramakrishnan decided to try and take it down by moving all in. He covered the usually stoic Craker who stood from his chair and removed his sunglasses in shock. It appeared Craker had a big decision on his hand, but he was rather quick to announce a call.

Craker: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Ramakrishnan: {J-Spades}{8-Spades}

Ramakrishnan held top pair and an open-ended straight draw, but Craker had flopped a set of sixes and they held when the river bricked the {Q-Clubs}.

A count of Craker's remaining chips saw that he had 38,900 more which Ramakrishnan handed over to leave himself with just 18,500 behind. Meanwhile Craker is up over 110,000 and in great shape.

Small Hit For Raj

Raj Ramakrishan
Raj Ramakrishan
Raj Ramakrishnan has just taken a small hit after calling an all-in bet on a {3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} flop. Ramakrishnan tabled {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for top pair and the lead as his opponent flipped {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for the flush draw.

However the turn was the {J-Hearts} to change things around completely and the river bricked the {2-Spades}. Ramakrishnan slips to 75,000 chips.

Big Slick No Good For Gates

Sherif Badran opened with a min-raise from the button to 2,400 before Garry Gates popped it to 6,000 from the small blind. Aaron Benton called in the big blind and Badran came along.

The three players then put on the breaks as they checked down a {6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} board. Gates flashed {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} but Badran collected the pot with his {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for a rivered pair of nines.

Badran has made good progress today as he jumps to 90,000 in chips as Gates slips to 70,000.

French Revolution

France's Gerome Guitteau is on a good run
France's Gerome Guitteau is on a good run
Frenchman Gerome Guttiau's good morning continued by chalking up yet another elimination.

Preflop, the cutoff made it 2,800, with Guitteau
popping it up to 8,500. The big blind then made it 21,200 and the cutoff folded. Guitteau made the call and the players went heads up to a {Q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop. The big blind moved all in straight away for 51,600 and without much thought Guitteau made the call.

Guitteau tabled {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} but was a little dismayed when he saw that his opponent held {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a bigger flush draw.

He would have a big sweat against the overcard and the flush draw, but the {2-Spades} turn and {10-Clubs} river were all clear shipping him a huge pot.

Guitteau moves up to 170,000.
