Eric Assadourian Eliminated
PokerStars Team Australia Pro Eric Assadourian has been eliminated from the event.

The "Smiling Assassin" committed his last 100,000 chips on a flop of {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} with Jason Brown making the call in position.

Assadourian revealed {6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} for an open-ended straight draw but Brown had {a-Spades}{A-Clubs}. Needing to hit his draw to stay alive, the {A-Hearts} turn and {8-Clubs} river left Assadourian to depart in 19th place for a payday of NZ$7,101.

Back To Normal

The early morning craziness appears to have settled down a little bit with most of the short stacks disappearing.

There are a couple hanging on with one eye on the next pay jump for the final 16, and it appears there are some definite stalling tactics in play.

Shinzaki Hauls A Good Size Pot

Michael Shinzaki

Three players took a {3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop. On the flop Jason Brown and Michael Shinzaki both checked to Shilton Smith on the button.

Smith bet 35,000 and Brown made the call. Shinzaki thought for a while before pumping it up to 70,000. Smith called, but Brown folded.

The turn came the {j-Hearts} and both players checked to the river {8-Diamonds}. Once again they both checked and Shinzaki tabled his {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} two pair and Smith mucked.

Shinzaki is up to 370,000.

Sal Fazzino Eliminated in 23rd Place (NZ$7,101)

Sal Fazzino - 23rd Place
Sal Fazzino - 23rd Place
Preflop, Richard Lancaster from the cutoff opened to 22,000 and Sal Fazzino made the call from the button.

They took a flop of {j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades} and Lancaster fired out 25,000. Fazzino moved all in over the top and Lancaster called.

Lancaster: {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Fazzino: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}

Lancaster would have to hold up against Fazzino's straight outs. The turn {4-Clubs} and river {10-Hearts} were just what he needed and after counting down the stacks it was revealed that Lancaster had Fazzino covered by the slimmest of margins.

Climo Climbs With Favourite Hand

Catching the action on the flop of {9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}, there was a bet from Lance Climo before Charlie Swan raised it up to 100,000. Climo quickly moved all in for an additional 122,000, covering Swan who went into the tank.

The two exchanged plenty of friendly banter as Climo continually encouraged his opponent to fold. Eventually the clock was called and Swan made a frustrated fold, flashing the {K-Spades}. Climo turned over his "favourite hand" - the {6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}.

Climo climbs to 360,000 with Swan going for a walk as he's left with 110,000.
