Rubie Doubles Through Sabat

Level 7 : 400/800, 75 ante
Brendon Rubie
Brendon Rubie

From under the gun, Brendon Rubie raised to 1,800. One player called in middle position and then Eddy Sabat reraised to 7,200 from the small blind. Rubie moved all in for 21,600 and the flat caller in middle position folded. Sabat thought for a minute or two and then made the call.

Rubie tabled the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts} and Sabat tabled the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. Much of the table and a couple of the onlookers took this as a slowroll, claiming Sabat should have called a lot quicker. Sabat didn't mean to slowroll and apologized if people felt he did. He said that he really didn't think his hand was good.

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Sabat said, "Guess I get what I deserved," as he sent over the chips to Rubie, who's back to about 46,000 now. Sabat dropped to 68,000 and change.
