Another Team Pro

One more PokerStars Team Pro has taken their seat at the felt, with Maxim Lykov the latest entrant in the 2011 APPT Macau Main Event.

One Up, One Down

Browsing the room, we find that Joseph Cheong, who is making his first trip to Macau, is up to about 35,000. On the other hand, Eddy Sabat, the 2008 champion of this event, is down roughly half of his starting stack to 16,700.

Willcocks Takes Early Pot

Ben Gilholme opened the action to 300 from under the gun and all the players at his table got out of the way before Phil Willcocks made the call in late position.

Flop: {8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Gilholme again led, this time for 400 and Willcocks again made the call as the {q-Spades} was dealt on the turn. Both players opted to check as the {9-Hearts} completed the board.

Gilholme thought for a few moments before deciding to softly tap the felt, at which point Willcocks quickly checked behind. Gilhome tabled his {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and they would hit the muck when Willcocks turned over his {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

More Names in the Field

Stacked

This is one table to fear as Team PokerStars Pro's Vivian Im and Nacho Barbero are seated with the likes of 2011 Aussie Millions 3rd-place finisher Jeff Rossiter, 2010 Macau Poker Cup 2nd-place finisher Kelly Flynn, recent WSOP bracelet winner Joe Ebanks and prominent Japanese player, Yasuhiro Waki.

T25,000 Chip for Alternates

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Due to the size of the field here on Day 1b, there is a decent list of alternates waiting to get in the event. The tournament staff just made the announcement that many of these alternates will be entering the tournament with a different chip in their stack than those already in play -- the red T25,000 chip.
