Scott Sent Sailing

Stewart Scott is no stranger to success in Melbourne, Australia managing to take down the biggest prize on offer in the region; winning the Aussie Millions Main Event and the $2 million prize to go along with it in 2009.

Scott moved all in preflop for his last 20,000 and managed a call from Kyle Cheong.

Scott: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Cheong: {k-}{q-}

By the time the board had ran out {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{a-Clubs} it was looking pretty good for Scott as the ace on the turn trumped the king that Cheong hit on the flop. Tablemate Ali Khalil even gave a loud "Boom!" for Scott as the turn card hit the felt.

If only poker were that simple though. The {q-Diamonds} hit the river and gave Cheong two pair to send Scott to the rail.

Shabtay Sticks It To Steicke

We came to the action with a flop showing {8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and David Steicke in a hand up against Aharon Shabtay.

Steicke checked to Shabtay who threw out a pot-sized bet of 11,000. Steicke made the call and the {10-Hearts} rolled off on the turn. Again Steicke made the check-call, with this time Shabtay betting 22,000.

The river fell the {4-Clubs} and Steicke opted to check again. This time Shabtay threw out a bet of 20,000 into a pot of around 70,000. Steicke made the fold and sent the handsome pot to Shabtay.

Hinrichsen Healthy

Andrew Hinrichsen has just dealt the fatal blow to Rodrigo Meneses, with Meneses moving his short stack all in from middle position holding {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}, and with Hinrichsen making the call from the cutoff holding {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}.

The board would be no help to Meneses as it ran out {5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, sending the pot to Hinrichsen and Meneses to the rail.

Seal Doubles

Emanuel Seal has manged a double up after starting the day with one of the short stacks.

Seal had his tournament life on the line holding {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} against an opponent's {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{a-Hearts}, the queen in Seal's hand making all the difference, as he out-kicked his opponent to stay alive.
