Turker Taking It To Them

Koray Turker
Koray Turker

Koray Turker has emerged as our new chipleader, ammassing a monster 300,000 in chips.

Our friends at the PokerStars Blog were kind enough to give us the details of an interesting hand that highlights how Koray is managing to run over his table.

Apparently Turker put in a four-bet to 32,000 only to call off a shove from his three-betting opponent, with Turker holding only {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. Turker's opponent held {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} and was looking good with a board showing {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, but the river would ensure Turker continued his domination, with the {a-Hearts} dealing the fatal blow to Turker's opponent.

Double Sammy

Sam Yousseff was down to arounnd 40,000 before he got his stack all in preflop against Sal Fazzino.

Yousseff: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Fazzino: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

Board: {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

The ace on the flop was enough for Yousseff to take down the pot and stay alive with the double up.

Home For Huang

Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang had his tounrmanent life on the line holding {5-}{5-} against the {k-}{k-} of Phillip Willcocks.

Huang had been nursing a fairly small stack most of the day and couldn't manage to catch up to Willcocks' kings as the board ran out blanks.

Huang's demise sends Willcocks to the top of the leader board.

Gorr Gone

Unfortunately for David Gorr, he won't be crowned this year's APPT Melbourne champion, but fortunately for Gorr, Melbourne has been good to him in the past with some nice scores, including taking down the Aussie Millions earlier this year for a hefty $2 million first prize.

Jesse On The Button

There was some talk over at Jesse McKenzie's table about his recent victory in the PokerStars Sunday Million, where McKenzie took down the $179,678.88 first prize.

While the discussion kept going the action at the table came to McKenzie, who raised it to 4,400 from the button, with one caller behind. The play then moved to Jonathan Karamalikis in the big blind, who asked McKenzie how much he had behind before reraising it 11,700.

With the limper out of the picture, McKenzie thought for some time before deciding to let his hand go. The other player also folded and the pot went to Karamalikis.
