Bhasin Goes For a Double Check-Raise

Roy Bhasin
Roy Bhasin

PokerStars Team Online Roy Bhasin just managed to win a very interesting pot against chip leader Wayne Bentley.

Bentley started things off by raising to 7,000 from the button, and Bhasin called from the small blind. The big blind called as well, and both players checked to Bentley when the flop brought {3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

Bentley put out a continuation-bet of 10,000 and Bhasin raised it up to 29,000. The big blind folded, Bentley called.

On the turn the {A-Spades} showed up, and Bhasin decided to check again. Bentley didn't want to see a river just yet as he bet 29,000. This got Bhasin to shove, and he put his 145,500 chips at risk. Bentley tanked for a long time, but eventually he decided to let it go.

Bhasin is the last player representing PokerStars in this event, and after this pot he sees himself in serious contention.

Some Count Updates

Kanaan Five-Bet Bluffs

Tam Truong raised pre flop to 6,500 and the action was folded to Michael Kanaan who three-bet to 15,000 from the button. Both blinds folded after which Truong four-bet to 31,500.

Kanaan wasn't giving up as he put in a fifth raise to 57,000. Truong tanked for a bit, but eventually laid his hand down. Kanaan immediately turned over {Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, and showed his opponents he's not scared to put in chips.

Bentley Can't Beleive It

When we arrived at Table 27, there was a {7-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board out on the felt and Wayne Bentley was busy leading out for 50,000 into Milan Gurun with a sizable pot already built. Gurung tanked for a long time, eventually calling. At this point, Bentley kind of shrugged and was getting ready to muck. Gurung also hesitated. There was almost a stale mate. Bentley eventually showed a {9-Hearts} and thought it wasn't good so was still looking like mucking. Gurung told Bentley to turn his other card over and he did. It was a {6-Diamonds}. At this point, Gurung mucked his cards and Bentley scooped up the large pot. Bentley went for a little walk after that, looking a little flabbergasted.

Truong Takes Some From Kanaan

Both players still have huge stacks, but in the following pot Tam Truong had the better of it against Michael Kanaan.

The flop read {2-Spades}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts} when Truong checked to Kanaan who bet 5,500. Truong got out more chips and made it 12,500. Kanaan quickly called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and Truong fired out 16,000. Kanaan called, after which the river brought out the {4-Hearts}. Both players checked.

Truong turned over {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, and he took it down.

Queens and Rubies

We arrived at Table 32 with Tom Grigg and Brendon Rubie playing out a hand on a {8-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} board. It was already on the river with around 30,000 in the pot. Rubie was in the big blind position and led for 21,000. Grigg, from under the gun, tank-called and then mucked when Rubie turned over {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

With that hand, Rubie is the latest player to move over 300,000 in chips.
