We wanted to give you guys an update on the number of players today. We had 81 entrants yesterday, and so far today, we have 73. There is an hour left in registration, so we are expecting about the same number of players today. This means we will be falling well short of the 246 players that entered this event last year.
We just caught a hand with recent Macau Poker Cup Red Dragon Event runner-up Gie Reyes.
Reyes opened to 550 from middle position before facing a raise of 1,150 from the player to his immediate left. He made the call as both players saw the flop come down 
. Reyes checked as his opponent threw out a bet of 2,025. He thought for a moment before sliding out his entire stack into the middle. The move was enough to force a fold from his opponent, as he moves back up to 21,000 in chips.

Chane Kampanatsanyakorn finished runner up at the APPT Seoul Main Event, the last stop on the tour before this one. He's hoping to repeat that success here in Cebu, and while he got off to a good start, we just caught him losing a decent pot.
In the first hand, Kampanatsanyakorn was heads up on a flop of 
. Both players checked, and the turn brought the 
. Kampanatsanyakorn's opponent bet out 300, and he responded with a raise to 1,000. His opponent called, and the river brought the 
. His opponent checked this time, and again, Kampanatsanyakorn put out a bet of 1,000. He was called, and his 
for top pair was good enough to take down the pot.
Just a few hands later, we caught Kampanatsanyakorn once again in a heads up pot, this time on the turn, with the board reading 
. Kampanatsanyakorn fired 2,200 from the big blind, and his opponent in the cutoff called. The river brought the 
, and Kampanatsanyakorn fired at it again, this time for 3,500. He was looked up, and Kampanatsanyakorn tabled 
fir a pair of fives. It was no good though, as his opponent showed 
for a better pair.
After that hand, Kampanatsanyakorn dropped to 17,000, which is still plenty for the first level of the day.

The hand was caught with the board reading 
. The small blind checked, as Jesse McKenzie threw out 225 from the big blind. A player in middle position made the call, as did the hijack and button player to see the 
complete the board.
McKenzie led out for another 1,025 and was called by the hijack and button players as he slowly rolled over for trip eights. His opponent in the hijack then revealed her 
for a straight, which was good enough to take down the pot.

The reason that yesterday started at noon was that the day could finish early, so the players could all head down to the player's party.
Welcome back to the live coverage of the Asia Pacific Poker Tour from Cebu in the Philippines. Today will see the Day 1b action of the APPT Cebu Main Event kick into full swing from midday today.
Yesterday saw just 81 players take to the felt in what ended up being a shorter than expected day. That didn't mean the poker was any less tough though as Ivan Zalac managed to become the Day 1a chip leader. He finished on 109,100 and that's the amount all the players will be chasing today.
The tournament staff are hopeful that we will get 120-entrants today and surpass a total of 200 runners for the event. It’s a tad short of the 246 that took part in last year’s event, but anything can happen today, so we’ll just wait and see.
It is expected that Team PokerStars Pros Raymond Wu and Celina Lin will both be at the tables today and looking to make a deep run. They will be hoping to join fellow pro Bryan Huang on Day 2, after he finished just below starting stack at the end yesterday’s play.
