Wong Crippled; Eliminated

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

We arrived at the table with the flop spread out {3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Hearts}.

Yifan Zhang checked from under the gun plus one, as did Hoi Wong from the hijack. KC Wong was the third player in the hand and he threw out 1,400 in chips. Both his opponents called before the {4-Diamonds} landed on the turn.

Zhang checked once more prompting Hoi to move all in for his remaining 14,875 in chips. KC deliberated for over a minute, cutting out the call, and clutching it in his hand. He eventually made the call forcing Zhang out of the hand, but not before he flashed his {j-Hearts}

Hoi Wong: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
KC Wong: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Hoi had turned the straight and had KC drawing the dead. The meaningless {q-Diamonds} on the river completed the board resulting in the large pot being pushed to Hoi.

KC was left with 4,500 in chips and was spotted moments after the hand exiting the tournament floor.

The Perfect Start

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

We just walked passed Table 13 and noticed a monster stack belonging to Zhifeng Yao.

The player from China has almost four times his starting stack so early in proceedings.

We'll keep an eye out to see if he can continue on his dominant ways.

Zhong Catches A Break

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

We rushed over to Table 1 after noticing Kun Zhong jumping for joy after taking down a pot.

The details of the hand was relayed back from tournament staff who said that Zhong moved all in for his remaining 8,350 with {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs} on a {6-}{9-}{10-} flop. But Zhong would need a lot of help as he was called by Gareth Pepper who held pocket aces.

A repeat {6-} was not was Zhong was looking for on the turn, however the {8-} on the river was. An unlikely straight was enough to see the Chinese player take down the pot to stay alive in the tournament.

Lam Flushes Opponent

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The action started with Ian Lam raising to 250 from the hijack. The player in the cut off then bumped it up to 650 and was called by both players in the blinds. With the decision back on Lam, he made the call, before all four players watched the flop come down {q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

The player in the small blind quickly threw out 250 forcing a fold from the player on the big blind. Lam thought for a minute before making the call but was met with a raise to 1,800 from the player in the cut off. The small blind quickly called and Lam followed suit.

After the {j-Clubs} landed on the turn, the small blind once again bet out 250. Lam went into the tank for several minutes as he deliberated over his call.

“Tell him 250, not 25,000,” added the player in the big blind, who was getting slightly frustrated at the length the hand was taking.

Time was called but Lam made the call before the tournament staff arrived which forced a fold from the player in the cut off after he let out a disappointed groan.

Both players then snap checked as the {9-Hearts} completed the board. The player in the small blind tabled his {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a pair but it was not enough as Lam rolled over his 8c}{10-Clubs} for a flush and the winning hand.

Lam now moves up to 37,000 following the hand.

The Stage is Set for Agarwal

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We arrived at the table to see the board spread out {6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and around 4,000 chips in the pot.

The player in the small blind checked his option before PokerStars Team Pro Aditya Agarwal bet out 3,850 from the big blind. With the decision back on the small blind, he thought for a minute, before making the call.

Agarwal then tabled his {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for a flopped set of sixes which was enough to take down the pot as his opponent tossed his hand into the muck.

Early Madness with River Bad Beat

Level 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Just spotting around the tournament area, one of the players was standing up and heading to the rail. Surely to just grab a drink? No ... . According to table chat, the first unfortunate player to be eliminated after a mere 10 minutes has a bad beat story to tell after four-bet shoving preflop for his entire stack with {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}.

The initial raiser tanked for a long time and said to have folded pocket queens while Chang Ling Yu from Taiwan more or less snap-called with the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}. The board ran out {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and Yu caught the two-outer on the river!!!
