Kanzaki Busts in Coin Flip

Level 16 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Another preflop all in situation towards the end of the penultimate level saw Yoshihisa Kanzaki at risk with {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Geng Liu made the call with the {J-Hearts}{J-Spades} and suffered a setback on the {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}{A-Diamonds} flop, however the {J-Diamonds} turn returned the lead to the better hand preflop.

Only an ace could save the Japanese and it was the {K-Diamonds} river instead that shipped the pot to Liu.

Reina Busts to Zhao

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Guiseppe Reina
Guiseppe Reina

While Wai Leong Chan failed to knock out a short stack with {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds} versus {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}, Fan Zhao did so in dominating fashion.

It was Guiseppe Reina who got it in preflop with the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} to his {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and the Chinese faded a gutshot on the turn of a {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{J-Hearts} board to hold up and bust Reina.

The Story Checks Out for Lim Sam

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Pu Liu
Pu Liu

After a three-way flop of {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, Kwet Yoong Lim Sam made a bet and was called by one opponent before Pu Liu moved all in for what looked like 100,000 with {J-Spades}{10-Spades}. Lim Sam had already made a bottom set after arriving at the very same table and sure enough did so again whereas the other player said he folded {J-}{10-}.

Another five on the turn gave Lim Sam the second quads of today and unbeatable hand to score yet another huge pot.

O'Dwyer Bricks Big Draw Against Zhang

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

With around 58,000 chips in the pot on a flop of {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}, Weiyi Zhang led from the small blind for 27,000 and Steve O'Dwyer moved all in for another 96,500 on top. Zhang had to give it a lot of thought but eventually made the call and they tabled their cards:

O'Dwyer: {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for a straight and flush draw
Zhang: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

Both the {5-Clubs} turn and the {Q-Clubs} river bricked and the Chinese rocketed up to 340,000 in chips while O'Dwyer headed out of the tournament area. The Irish-American may very well be back tomorrow for the HK$100,000 High Roller as of 17:00 local time.

Kim Wins Flip

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Fresh Off the big double, Dongshong Peng took a coin flip for 71,500 with {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} against the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} of Gab Yong Kim. The board ran out {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Kim is back in the game.

Sihai Jiang had a short stack shove over his 10,000-raise but he eventually mucked his cards and was shown {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} by his opponent.

Peng Rising

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We arrived at the table to see over 70,000 in the pot and the board showing {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}. Dongsheng Peng checked from the big blind prompting Jun Bao to bet out 24,000. He was called by Gab Yong Kim on the button before the decision fell back on Peng. He cut out a raise and slid in an additional 50,000 in chips. Boa tanked for over a minute before committing the extra 50,000 and Kim folded.

Before the dealer rolled over the {5-Diamonds} on the river, Peng had already committed his remaining 43,000 in chips. Boa snap mucked his hand, tabling two hearts for a missed flush. Peng obliged by showing {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the nut straight and what was a better flush draw.

Chan Eliminates Lee

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The action folded around to Chi Hsiang Lee in the cut off who moved all in for his remaining 26,000 in chips. Wai Leong Chan was seated to his left and threw in a raise totalling 75,000. The bet was enough to scare off the blinds leaving the two players to table their cards.

Lee: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Chan: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to see both player hit trip aces but Chan taking down the pot with the higher kicker.

Yoshiro Nagata
Yoshiro Nagata

Shortly after the bubble burst, Yoshiro Nagata got his stack in preflop with {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} against the {J-Spades}{10-Spades} of Chao Chen in a battle of the blinds. The board ran out {7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} and the Japanese laughed, high-fived with his opponent and then took a picture of his payout slip.

Zheng Wang Bubbles the Main Event

Level 15 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Zheng Wang
Zheng Wang

There were two all in and a call and table four was the first to determine the bubble boy while table 1 provided a split pot with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} versus {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}.

It was Yat Wai Chen open-shoved from the small blind and Zheng Wang called in the big blind with his short stack of only a couple of big blinds. Zhang held the {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} while Chen flipped over the inferior {J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}. The rail erupted on the {5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{J-Spades} flop and neither the {A-Clubs} turn nor {Q-Clubs} river could save Zhang anymore.

All remaining players are now in the money and guaranteed at least HK$43,600.
