Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

There is a steady list of more than one dozen players waiting to get a seat for the past half an hour and among those to join shortly is also Robert Glasspool, who made a deep run in the 2019 Aussie Millions Main Event and busted just shy of the final table.

Yuki Ko walked in with fellow Japanese player Norihiro Otani, while other notables to join the action are Jun Obara and David Sheperd.

Tatsuya Kyogoku on the button was taking on Keisuke Fujita in the small blind and Kaixiang Ye in the cutoff and the trio created a pot of more than 7,000 to the {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts} turn. Action checked to Kyogoku and his bet of 3,100 forced two folds to claim the pot.

The same table also features Huijie Zhou, who reached the Six-Handed stage in the 2019 Aussie Millions Main Event and finished in 23rd place for A$61,500.

Haruta Calls Down Opponent

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante

Koichi Haruta opened to 300 from late position, a player in the hijack three-bet to 1,000 and Haruta called. The dealer spread out {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} on the flop and Haruta checked to his opponent who bet 800.

Matsumoto Busts to Shiokawa

Level 2 : 100/100, 100 ante
Yuzo Shiokawa
Yuzo Shiokawa

At the very end of the first level, there were just eight big blinds in the pot with the flop reading {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} and a raising war broke out between two Japanese players. Shinya Matsumoto bet, Yuzo Shiokawa raised to 1,500 and Matsumoto clicked it back to 4,000. Shiokawa made it 10,000 to go and called the shove of his opponent for the following showdown.

Yuzo Shiokawa: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Shinya Matsumoto: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

The {7-Spades} turn changed nothing and the {4-Hearts} river paired the board. Both stacks were counted and Shiokawa doubled for 29,500, which left Matsumoto with 100. Those vanished in the next hand when his {10-Spades}{9-Clubs} was dominated by none other than Shiokawa with {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}, who flopped trips on a board {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades}.
