Ricardo Torres was just one card away from elimination but he managed to spike a magic river, to not only keep him in the field, but also double up his stack.
The flop was reading and Torres had bet 4,200 chips. His opponent didn't think about it for long before shoving his stack of 25,000 in the middle. Torres was covered with 15,500 behind him and called.

Yuri Odagiri is one of the many ladies that appeared in National's field for Day 1a, and so far they have a very good presence.
In one of the last hands, Odagiri found some value on the river, where she bet 7,000 with the board showing . She wasn't probably very excited when a four-card straight came on the river, while she was holding for a set of threes.
Either way, her opponent paid the bet and mucked his cards to bring her stack up to 42,000 in chips.
