Trips and 100k for Shaham

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Eran Shaham picked up a sizeable pot that catapulted him to 100,000 in chips. The hand was in the river when we reached the table, and Shaham had bet 15,000, in a 35,000 chip pot.

His opponent was deep in the tank, and another player at the table asked for time. The floor manager reached the table and started counting, with Shaham's opponent making the call in the last seconds.

He didn't keep his cards in his hand for a long time though, since Shaham showed {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for trips that earned him the pot.

The River Drifts Clinkscales to the Rail

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Rex Clinkscales
Rex Clinkscales

Rex Clinkscales found the perfect spot to double up but the deck had other plans. He shoved all in on the flop for 24,200 in chips, with the board reading {j-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}, after a bet for 2,200 and a raise to 10,000 chips.

The initial bettor folded his hand, but the raiser called after some time in the tank, including a question to Clinkscales if he held five-four.

Rex Clinkscales: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Clinkscales' top pair was ahead of his opponent's middle pair, with the {8-Diamonds} on the turn keeping this lead for the American player.

The {10-Hearts} on the river though was one of the cards he didn't want to see, and he left his seat with an expression of surprise on his face.

Small Double, But What a Double for Nguyen

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Quang Nguyen had gotten it in for his last 7,000 holding {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} but had run into the {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} of an opponent.

"Yesterday I lost seven times with two or three-outers," he said as the flop came {2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}. He perked up at the sight of the {10-Clubs} on the turn and the {9-Clubs} river gave him a king-high straight and he scored a small but meaningful double to around 15,000.
