Game Over for Lunde

Level 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Just before the break, Ole Kristian Lunde had once more clashed with his previous nemesis Keita Minami when his {10-Clubs}{7-Spades} had flopped the top two pair on a {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Hearts} board. However, Minami made superior two pair with the {10-Hearts}{9-Spades} and doubled for 52,500.

Lunde was down to fumes and lost those shortly after with {q-Hearts}{4-Spades} versus {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} on a {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} board.

Final Break on Day 1b

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A field of 186 entries has already been cut into more than half in the first ten levels of play and all those with chips at their disposal have been sent on a scheduled ten-minute break. During that time, the T-100 chips will be raced off and the late registration closes when the cards go back in the air.

No Bag for Thompson on Day 1b

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Gary Thompson was spotted on his way out of the tournament area and the Irishman had already re-entered, ending his run on Day 1b without anything to show for.

Michael Soyza confirmed what had happened as he was sitting on the same table. According to Soyza, Jose Colada had flopped a set of sevens and Thompson turned a pair of jacks with queen-jack to hit the rail.

Ross Scores a Double

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The miracle comeback of Ceesvin Abdulla was cut short as he was knocked out by Mai Bien, who further increased his already impressive stack.

Moments later one table over, Yota Mitsui open-jammed out of the small blind and Harry Ross called all-in for 21,200 in the big blind.

Harry Ross: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Yota Mitsui: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Hussaini Knocked Out by Abdulla

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a previous all-in showdown, Meerwais Hussaini with {a-Spades}{q-Spades} had chopped against the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} of Ceesvin Abdulla with the latter having flopped two clubs for a sweat.

Soon after they got it in again and this time Hussaini ended up second best as his cards were mucked. Abdulla had the best of it with {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} for a pair of jacks on a board of {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

Double Knockout for Hun

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The dealer announced a double knockout and suddenly there were just four players left with chips out in front as floor staff tried to balance and move over fresh blood. Sokmeng Hun was all smiles as his {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} had prevailed.

According to the table chatter, Hun had called two all ins with one player holding {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Adalsteinn Karlsson was also at risk with the {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. The turn delivered a gutshot and Hun then rivered a jack.

Lunde Left Short

Level 10 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Ole Kristian Lunde: {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The superior pair remained ahead on the {q-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs} board and Minami doubled.
