Erquiaga Out for Now

Level 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante
David Erquiaga
David Erquiaga

David Erquiaga had just won a showdown pot with {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs} versus {8-Spades}{7-Hearts} on a board of {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{q-Hearts} and was hovering around 16,000 in chips. Those went into the middle just after the blinds went up and he was facing Mai Bien in showdown.

David Erquiaga: {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Mai Bien: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

The ace-jack high remained ahead throughout the {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Spades} board to send Erquiaga to the rail.

Soma Pays Off Yong

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

On the river of a {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} board, Leo Soma had checked and then faced a bet worth 20,000 by Yan Chee Yong. Soma tanked for more than two minutes before he called and was shown the {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the ace-high flush as the winning hand, which he could not beat.

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Adalsteinn Karlsson
Adalsteinn Karlsson

Adalsteinn Karlsson was all-in for 18,800 with the {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and up against the {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} of Rajeev Kanjani. The {10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} board gave Karlsson superior two pair as he doubled.

Kanjani was all-in for 1,000 right after as Michael Fullmer jammed to force out another player with deuces.

Rajeev Kanjani: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Michael Fullmer: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} board kept the hopes of a miracle comeback for Kanjani alive.

Takayama Back to the Starting Stack

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

WSOP bracelet winner Mike Takayama was all-in for the final 14,400 on the button and looked up by the big blind.

Takayama rolled over the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and needed to improve versus {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades} board just did that despite a major sweat on the turn and the Filipino moved back to the starting stack.

Heads-up to the {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts} turn with some 28,000 in the middle, Hamish Crawshaw checked his option. He then faced a bet worth 3,000 by Meerwais Hussaini and quickly surrendered to see his third bullet plummet all the way to half the starting stack.

"The Show Must Go On"

Level 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Konstantin Pogodin
Konstantin Pogodin

Konstantin Pogodin was down to a single T-100 chip and survived to be then all-in for 200 chips in the small blind. Huu Dung Nguyen min-raised for the big blind to call, who then check-folded the {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop.

"The show must go on," Pogodin joked as he revealed the {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. He was ahead versus {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and that remained the case on the {8-Hearts} turn and {7-Spades} river.

Pogodin then lost the last 1,400 chips to Jose Colada shortly after, exiting the table with a "good luck guys".

Keay's Wild Ride Continues

Level 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Luke Keay
Luke Keay

Luke Keay's stack has been all over the place and he scored yet another double up to get back to six figures. Once more he clashed with Sokmeng Hun when they got it in after the {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} flop with Keay at risk for 46,100.

Luke Keay: {j-Spades}{9-Spades}
Sokmeng Hun: {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The {7-Diamonds} turn changed nothing much but provided some split pots. Keay then got there on the {4-Spades} river to score the double.
