Tsai and Cheng Keep on Battling

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Eric Tsai
Eric Tsai

Junnie Pamplona lost a portion of his stack without any major action and Eric Tsai then duelled with Chao-Ting Cheng several hands in a row. Cheng had the best of it first with JJ to climb to more than three million in chips.

What followed was a min-raise to 120,000 by Cheng and Tsai defended the big blind. On a KJ3 flop, Tsai check-folded to a bet of 120,000.

In the next hand, Tsai limped his small blind and called a raise to 200,000 by Cheng. Tsai check-raised the Q43 flop from 150,000 to 500,000 and Cheng folded while exposing a heart.

Tsai raised the next cutoff for Cheng to call on the button. The 1062 flop saw Tsai with a bet of 350,000 and Cheng earned the call. The 7 turn was checked and the 3 fell on the river. Tsai now fired a bet of 725,000 and Cheng used two time bank extensions before giving up.

Tsai Wins Three-Bet Pot Against Cheng

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jimmy Torres made it 120,000 to go as the first player to act and Eric Tsai called on the button. Chao-Ting Cheng then three-bet to 450,000 in the small blind and Tsai was the only caller. On a Q93 flop, both players checked and the 8 followed on the turn.

Cheng checked again and Tsai bet 275,000 for his fellow countryman to call. Both checked the 9 river and Cheng flashed what appeared to be AJ for a busted straight draw. Tsai won the pot with the 66 to pull away from Cheng once again.

Pamplona Takes From Torres; Loses to Cheng

Level 27 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Junnie Pamplona raised to 130,000 out of the small blind and Jimmy Torres called in the big blind. The 944 flop brought a bet of 105,000 by Pamplona and a call by his table neighbour.

Both checked the J turn and Pamplona's bet worth 305,000 on the river won the pot uncontested.

Chao-Ting Cheng then made it 120,000 to go in the cutoff. Pamplona three-bet to 320,000 for Cheng to use a time bank and four-bet to 760,000. Pamplona also invested a time bank and then folded the A face-up.

"Ace king?" he inquired and Cheng replied "no, I would push ace-king".

Torres Chips Back Up

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Junnie Pamplona lost some chips to Jimmy Torres and then raised to 110,000 for Eric Tsai to defend the big blind. On a K42 flop, both players checked and Tsai bet the Q turn for 150,000, earning a call from Pamplona.

Tsai also bet the 5 river for 325,000 and Pamplona folded. "Queen ten?" the Taiwanese asked but received no answer.

Jimmy Torres then opened to 100,000 on the button and Chao-Ting Cheng defended the big blind. The J72 flop was checked by Cheng and he called for 80,000 when Torres continued.

After the A turn, Cheng checked again and Torres' bet of 120,000 won the pot uncontested. "Good turn for you," Cheng said with a smile on the face.

Pamplona Pulls Further Ahead

Level 26 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Junnie Pamplona raised to 105,000 and Jimmy Torres on the button three-bet to 250,000. Chao-Ting Cheng in the big blind had not seen the three-bet and tossed in 105,000 for a flat-call of the opening raise. "I know the rule ... man, my one big blind," Cheng joked.

On the A99 flop, Pamplona check-called for 175,000 and the K turn went check, check. Pamplona then led the 6 river for 310,000 and Torres folded.
