Remnant Among the Early Chip Leaders

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

In a five-way three-bet pot to the AJ2 flop, it checked all the way to Mark Remnant on the button with the flop showing AJ2. Remnant announced a bet of 7,000 and tossed in two orange T-5,000 chips. Three folds later, the action was on He Zhou and she also folded to forfeit the pot.

Along with Hal Rotholz, Remnant is an early chip leader towards the end of level one.

Kivi Forces Out Gardner

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Heads-up to the J934 turn, Grant Gardner and Roland Kivi both invested what appeared to be 2,700 and that led them to the K on the river. Gardner now checked and Kivi then bet 3,800. That brought a dry smile on the face of Gardner, who sigh-folded a couple of seconds later.

Remnant Chips Up Against Park

Level 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Picking up the action on the 987 flop, Mark Remnant bet 1,200 out of the small blind and Hyunkyou Park called from under the gun. Remnant bet again the A turn for 2,200 to get raised by Park, who made it 6,200 to go. The Brit came along and both checked the 2 on the river.

Remnant tabled the A3 and that won the pot.

Mai Off to a Decent Start

The runner-up of the 2023 WPT Prime Cambodia Main Event accumulated several deep runs in Poker-Stars branded live events including the same venue here at NagaWorld. Bien Mai has already earned an APPT trophy during the stop and has also chipped up right away on Day 1a. During one of the latest showdown hands, his J10 turned a flush on the QJ4K5 board and got some value to send the player from Vietnam up on the leaderboard.

Zhang Forces Out Chua in Large Pot Early On

With some 5,500 in the middle to the 542J turn, Xianbing Zhang bet 4,000 out of the small blind. Feng Ji Chua called on the button to then face a larger bet worth 10,000 on the 3 river.

Chua sighed and folded, to which Zhang said "nice fold" before dragging in the pot.

As the board was checked down to the 4435A river, Grant Gardner opted to check. Jin Woo Lim then bet 300 and Garner called but quickly mucked upon getting shown the 22 for the wheel by Lim.
