Tate Busts Borg

Brian Tate made it 12,000 to go from under the gun and when the action got around to David Borg on the button, he moved all in for his last 20,000; Tate made the call.

Tate: A-Q
Borg: A-8

Borg would need an eight or some kind of straight to stay alive, but the board blanked out ten-high, and Borg was eliminated from the tournament.

Levick Doubles Through Carlone

American Chris Levick opened the pot for a raise from the cutoff, making it 6,000 to go; Luca Carlone was the lone caller in the small blind.

The flop came {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Luca checked to Chris, who led out with a 6,000 bet; Luca called.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and both players knuckled the table. The last card off the deck was the {6-Diamonds} and Luca acted first, firing a 13,000 bullet. Levick then moved all in for a total of 40,000; Luca insta-called.

At the showdown, Luca turned over {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, good for trip eights, but Levick tabled the real monster: {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}. The win pumped Levick up to 110,000 in chips while Luca dropped to a still-manageable 100,000.

Scotty Nguyen Eliminated

From mid-position, Scotty Nguyen moved all in for his last 30,000 in chips and was called by Markus Duberg from the cutoff. At the showdown, Duberg revealed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} and Scotty tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Hearts}.

The {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Hearts} board brought no help for the Prince of Poker, who received a very loud and genuine round of applause as he exited the tournament area.

Patry Doubles Through

Dinh Le quietly raises to 7,000 UTG from the one seat and it is folded around to Joe Hachem in seat 6. He goes into the tank and throws out 4,500, unaware that Le is in the hand. He laughs and says, "You're very quiet huh?" throwing out the other 2,500 required to call. It is folded to Guillaume Patry in the big blind, who shoves for just under 40,000. Le insta-calls and Hachem mucks.

Patry has {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}.
Le shows {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

The river is the {A-Spades} and Patry doubles through.

Sheridan Eliminates Toth

Richard Toth picked up pocket queens and found himself all in for his last 36,000 against Marc Sheridan, who tabled pocket kings.

The board brought no cards of consequence and Toth was eliminated from the tournament. Sheridan stacked up right around 75,000 in chips after the hand.

"Wong" Time and Place for Gianfriddo and Kagawa

Nicholas Wong just took down a monster pot, eliminating two players in the process, after his pocket kings held up in a three-way preflop all-in fest. Aussie Paul Gianfriddo and Team PokerStars Pro Masa Kagawa were the casualties; these were the players' hands:

Gianfriddo: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Kagawa: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}
Wong: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

Wong managed to make a full house on the hand, as the community cards came: {6-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The pot, worth over 130,000, was one of the biggest of the tournament thus far.
