Break

[user67765]
There will now be a five-minute break as the staff setup the final table area for heads-up play.

J.C. Tran Eliminated in 3rd Place ($117,470)

J.C. Tran - 3rd Place
J.C. Tran - 3rd Place
J.C. Tran hung on as long as he could but in the end just couldn't put enough pots together to come out on top. After Inwook Choi opened for 50,000, Tran moved all in for 166,000 total. Adrien Allain called, as did Choi. They checked all the way down on a board of {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} {10-Spades} {9-?} {8-?}. Tran showed down two pair, {A-?} {8-?}, but the dead man's hand left Tran dead against Allain's {A-?} {Q-?}, a queen-high straight.

Tran leaves the tournament in third place with $117,470.

Blind Battle Erupts Into War

Play folded to Adrien Allain in the small blind who raised it up to 60,000 only to be met with a re-raise to 125,000 from Inwook Choi in the big blind.

Allain sat in the tank for several minutes before making it an additional 180,000 to play. Before Matt Savage could even announce the action, Choi had moved all in and Allain instantly folded.

A nice preflop pot to Choi without showdown as he is starting to gain some momentum at this final table.

Even More Chips for Allain

[user75032]
The pre-flop aggressor for the last hand was Inwook Choi. He opened for 50,000 and was called by big blind Adrien Allain. Allain checked a flop of {K-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {5-Hearts} over to Choi, then called a bet of 65,000. Both players checked the {7-Spades} turn, prompting Allain to bet 200,000 when the river fell {8-Clubs}. Choi quickly mucked.

Top Pair Not Enough For A Raise

[user67765]
All three players limped into the middle to see a flop of {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}. J.C. Tran took the lead and fired 32,000 with Adrien Allain the sole caller.

The {7-Hearts} turn and {10-Hearts} river were both checked down as Adrien Allain flashed a jack for top pair on the flop to collect the pot.

Tran Sinking Again

[user75032]
J.C. Tran can't afford to lose too many more pots. He limped the small blind and then called a raise to 60,000 made by big blind Adrien Allain. The two players checked all the way to the river, {j-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {8-Spades} {a-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. It was there that Allain took down the pot with a bet of 90,000.

Things Heating Up

[user67765]
Perhaps the players have now switched gears again as we just saw a very rarely sighted raise, re-raise, shove, before the flop.

Inwook Choi opened for 50,000, J.C. Tran folded before Adrien Allain raised it to 170,000 from the big blind. Choi then announced he was all in and Allain released.

Tran Doubles through Allain

J.C. Tran and Adrien Allain
We sensed something might be up when J.C. Tran opened with a raise to 42,000, something he hasn't done much of lately. Adrien Allain re-raised to 128,000. Once Inwook Choi folded, Tran and Allain quickly got their chips in. Tran was in for 159,000 and was at risk of elimination.

Tran: {A-Spades} {7-Clubs}
Allain: {A-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

Tran found himself dominated. He was in very rough shape after a flop of {9-Hearts} {5-Spades} {3-Diamonds}, but a {7-?} that spiked on the turn gave him new life. Tran's pair of sevens held up once a {j-?} hit the river, giving Tran a double-up to about 350,000.
