A Painful Fold

Kristoffer Myhre and Adrien Allain were the only players to a flop of {J-Clubs} {5-Hearts} {2-Spades}. Each checked. When the turn fell {7-Diamonds}, Myhre moved first and bet 10,000. Allain raised to 30,000, sending Myhre deep into the tank A clock was eventually called. During Myrrhe's "one minute" he finally flashed {J-Hearts} and mucked.

Seabeast Busts

Jay "Seabeast" Kinkade Eliminated
Jay "Seabeast" Kinkade Eliminated
In a hand that was recalled to us by Stewart Scott, after an opening raise from Johnny Chan, Jay 'SEABEAST' Kinkade moved all in over the top and Chan made the call.

Chan tabled {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} as Kinkade would need some help with {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. The board bricked out and the beast was sent to the rail.

Mikhail Shuts Eliminated

J.C. Tran has turned into a buzzsaw as this tournament has started to reach its later stages. We saw him involved in a pot with Mikhail Shuts. At the turn of a {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {10-Spades} board, roughly 50,000 in chips was already in the pot. Tran, who had Shuts well covered, acted first and moved all in. It was effectively 22,000 to Shuts. He tanked a minute and then called.

Tran showed down {K-Spades} {J-Spades} for top two pair. Shuts moved to just muck his hand, but he was instructed that he wsa required to open it. He opened {k-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}, a hand that was drawing dead.

Tran is up to 210,000 while Shuts heads off to collect his prize money.

Kurganov Doubles

Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov has just doubled up to stay alive after winning a preflop race but he needed to spike a set to do so.

It was Kurganov's {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} against an opponent's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and the board ran out {7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}.

Kurganov is back up to over 60,000.

Seabeast Suffers Flesh Wound

Jay Kinkade has just recalled to us how his aces were cracked in a rather unfortunate manner against Kentaro Araki.

Araki had shoved preflop with pocket tens and Kinkade made the call with the pocket rockets, only to see the board drop {Q-?}{Q-?}{K-?}{J-?}{9-?} to give Araki the king-high straight and the double up.

Araki is back to 60,000 with Kinkade still comfortable with 88,000.

Jingyu Du Eliminated

Jingyu Du - eliminated
It's "good game" for Jingyu Du. He ran his {A-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} into Sylvain Liotard's {A-Spades} {A-Clubs}. Liotard, who has displayed a fair bat of excitement today, started clapping his hands and shouting "YES!" after a flop of {J-Clubs} {2-Spades} {2-Hearts} was absolutely no help to Du. Du reported to the payouts table after a {9-Clubs} turn and {10-Clubs} river.
