Tony G opened the action with a raise to 3,000 from the button and Andrew Robl popped it up to 10,500 from the big blind. Guoga made the call.
The flop arrived and Robl checked to Guoga, who made a bet of 10,500. Robl called. The turn was the and both players checked. The river was the and Robl checked again to Guoga, who bet out 12,000 chips. Robl made the call and Guoga revealed . The ace-high flop saved Guoga some chips as Robl flipped .
Robl goes to the break with 175,000 while Guoga is down to 55,000.
Sandor Demjan certainly made the most of his time here at the poker tables. He was very active throughout, however, he has just met his demise from the tournament.
First, John Hennigan took a chunk of chips after Demjan folded on the river. Chris Ferguson would then finish the job. All of the chips went into the middle on the river of a board. Demjan moved all in for his last 10,500 with for two pair, but Ferguson revealed for the nut flush.
Demjan was eliminated and Ferguson jumped up to 185,000.
Well, it didn't take long for Phil Ivey to get busy. He called healthy bets of 17,000 on the turn and approximately 50,000 on the river against JC tran on a board of .
Tran flipped for quad deuces and the nuts as Ivey mucked. Tran is up to 190,000 while Ivey probably wished he'd arrived a few minutes later, slipping to 36,000 chips.
Alexander Kostristyn was first crippled and then eliminated at the hands of Sandor Demjan.
The board read when Demjan fired 12,000 on the river and Kostritsyn made the call. Demjan showed for trip queens to leave Kostritsyn down to his last 7,000.
He committed those chips a few minutes later with , but again it was Demjan's queens that did the damage as his paired up on the board of .
Our Aussie Millions Main Event champion from last year, Alexander Kostritsyn has become our first casualty of the day.
On a flop of Sandor Demjan checked from the big blind to John Hennigan, who fired out 3,500. Tony Bloom then popped it up to 9,500 from middle position, which forced a fold from Demjan. The action was then back to Hennigan, who put in another raise, this time to 25,500.
Bloom went into the tank and was forced to use a time breaker button before eventually timing out, resulting in his hand being dead. Hennigan is now up to 125,000 chips.
Gus Hansen raised from the button to 3,500, with both Tony G and David Steicke calling out of the blinds.
The flop came down and the action was checked to Hansen, who bet out for 5,500. Tony G made the call and David Steicke squeezed to 20,500 with a big check-raise. Hansen called and Guoga got out of the way.
The turn was the and Steicke quickly moved all in. Hansen used every available second to him to make a decision before sighing, "I can't find a hand I can beat." He folded, leaving himself only 28,000 chips. Steicke flashed the and now sits with 147,000 chips.
John Juanda limped from middle position and Dan Shak raised it to 3,000 from the cutoff. Juanda made the call.
Both players checked the flop of and when the fell on the turn, Juanda led out for 4,500. Shak quickly called and when Juanda threw out 5,000 on the river, Shak again called and tabled .
Juanda tapped the table and mucked his hand, Shak is now up to 150,000 in chips.
Phil Ivey has finally arrived and taken his seat on the feature table, much to the delight of the swarms of people gathered on the rail here in the Crown Poker Room.
As Ivey walked onto the tournament floor he asked, "Where am I at?" and was directed to his seat.
Ivey's stack hasn't taken too much of a hit as it sits at 93,000.
Runner-up in last year's Aussie Millions Main Event, Erik Seidel raised to 3,000 from the button and Sandor Demjan made the call in the big blind.
They saw a flop of and Demjan checked to Seidel, who bet 4,500. Demjan snap-called. The turn was the and it was checked to Seidel, who fired another 10,000. Again Demjan made a quick call.
The river was the and Demjan checked over to Seidel, who fired a third bullet of 25,000 chips. Demjan called, but Siedel flipped for trip eights to scoop a huge pot. Seidel is up to 175,000 and Demjan is struggling with only 20,500 left.
