Joannou Leading

John Joannou just won a pot worth 3,225 chips after picking off a bluff on the end. The pot grew to 2,625 by time Perry Friedman, Joannou and one other player reached seventh street. Here's how the hands looked.

Friedman: (X-X){5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}(X)
Opponent: (X-X){6-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{K-Spades}{A-Spades}(X)
Joannou; (X-X){K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}(X)

After seventh, the unknown player fired a bet. Joannou called and then Freidman folded. Joannou revealed {K-?}{Q-?}{J-?} for just pair of kings and his opponent mucked. Friedman saw this and claimed to muck two pair which would have been the winner.

Joannou is up to 24,435 and leading the way. Friedman has just over 17,000.

Judah Wins One and Loses One

Mel Judah: (X-X){3-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}(X)
Opponent:(X-X){4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}(X)

Judah checked fourth and his opponent bet. Judah made the call. On fifth, Judah check-called another bet. After sixth street was dealt, Judah bet and his opponent called. On seventh, Judah bet again and this time his opponent raised. Judah called.

Judah revealed {A-?}{Q-?}{3-?} for two pair, threes and fours. All his opponent had was a pair of sevens showing {9-?}{8-?}{7-?} from his hole cards.

On the next hand, Judah got involved with Luke McLean.

Judah: (X-X){A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}(X)
McLean: (X-X){6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}(X)

McLean was the bring-in man on third, where Judah completed. McLean called. After calling a bet on fourth street, McLean led fifth and was raised by Judah. McLean called. Both players then checked sixth and seventh.

Judah didn't show as his opponent revealed {Q-?}{6-?}{4-?} for two pair, sixes and threes.

After those two hands, Judah is sitting on 22,100.

Early Boating Trip for Joannou

John Joannou is going for his second ring of the series at the 2010 Aussie Millions today. He took down the $1,100 H.O.R.S.E. event a few days ago and so far, has started off on the right foot. Here's a hand he just got into with opponent Vic Thorton.

Thorton: (X-X){A-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}(X)
Joannou: (X-X){3-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}(X)

We picked up the action on sixth street where Thorton fired a bet. Joannou made the call. On seventh, Thorton check-called a bet from Joannou. Joannou then revealed two more jacks and another three from his down cards for a full house. He's up to 20,500 while Thorton dropped to 18,900.

Deckert Starting Off with Trips

Chris Deckert had a board of (X-X){9-?}{6-?}{Q-?}{J-?}(X) showing against one opponent. After his opponent bet seventh street showing (X-X){K-?}{J-?}{3-?}{6-?}(X), Deckert raised him. The player called and Deckert revealed his hand.

{9-?}{6-?}{Q-?}{J-?}({A-?}{9-?}{9-?})

Deckert's three nines were good enough to take down the pot and add him some early chips. He's on 20,700.

Who Wants to be a Stud?

Welcome back for another event at the 2010 Aussie Millions. Event No. 12 is $550 PokerPro Seven Card Stud and a new edition to the schedule this year. There was no stud variation last year, but in 2008 there was a mixed stud event (Stud/Stud-8/Razz). Jimmy Fricke was the biggest beneficiary of that event, walking home with first place and $16,800 AUD. That event though, was played on real live felt. Today's event will be a PokerPro event.

The $550 PokerPro Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo got 63 runners yesterday and one can expect that today's event will get around the same. It's been a great series so far and ll of the big names down here are going after money and titles, so we're sure to have some notables in the mix.

Play is set to kick off at 2:15 p.m. local time and the cap on the event is 80 players. Be sure to check out all the action here at PokerNews.com as we bring it to you live. We'll see you soon.
