Brian Roberts Advances

Brian Roberts may have done it easy against Tino Lechich in the second round, but his third round match against Harold Olson proved a fair bit more of a challenge.

Roberts had to overcome going behind 1-0, to take the match 2-1.

His winning hand saw all the money go in on a flop of {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} with Olson holding {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for two pair against Roberts' {6-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flush draw.

The {A-Hearts} hit the turn putting Roberts in front, and the {6-Spades} bricked the river, making Roberts the first man to cash from today's flight, and sending him into the quarter-finals tomorrow.

Woods Up One

It took a lot for Gary Retallick to go behind one. After being down to 150 on the second hand of the match, he fought his way back to 3,000 in chips.

He then got it all in with {k-?}{6-?} against {6-?}{6-?} looking to take the lead. He got the card he was looking for a {k-?} spiking the flop.

After the turn blanked, Woods would be re-drawing to just the case {6-?}.

He shipped the one outter on the river, much to the delight of the crowd who roared in appreciation.

Gary Retallick trails 1-0 and the winner will meet David Saab in the third round.

Two Wins For Saab

David Saab moves into the third round after a straight sets win over Harry Kaczka.

Saab will face the winner of Darren Woods and Gary Retallick.

McMurphy Gets His Man

Kyle McMurphy has eliminated Fabien Geisel.

The money went in on a flop of {5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} with both players turning over two pairs. Geisel had {A-Spades}{2-Hearts} for top and bottom, while McMurphy rolled over {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for top two.

The top two would hold up and McMurphy moves into the third round.

So Close, Yet So Far

Kyle McMurphy came within one card of ending his match with Fabien Geisel.

With all of Geisel's chips in the middle with just {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for an opened straight draw on the {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop, McMurphy was liking his {A-Hearts}{q-Clubs}.

The turn {10-Diamonds} changed nothing, but the {9-Hearts} spiked the river to keep Geisel in the game.

They are virtually even again and McMurphy looks bummed.

Roberts Forces A Third

Brian Roberts has forced a third and deciding rubber against Harold Olsen.

Olsen took the first rubber, but the guys got their stacks in pretty even in the second rubber with Roberts holding {A-Clubs}{a-Hearts} against Olsen's {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}.

The board ran out {A-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} making Olsen a set, but Roberts quads.

They are just starting the third rubber now.

Not Giving In Yet

Gary Retallick has doubled through three times. He's not yet back in business, but he is starting to make Woods think that the first rubber is not done yet.

Woods Whacks Retallick

The Retallick second round curse looks alive and well after Darren Woods took all but 150 of Gary Retallick's stack on just the second hand of their game.

Retallick now faces a huge battle to not go behind 1-0 against Woods.

Seidman Puts Second Round Behind

Andrew "BalugaWhale" Seidman has advanced to the third round to face Dani Stern, after ousting Michael McWhirter.

Seidman had to do it the hard way, making a comeback from a 1-0 deficit to claim the 2-1 victory.
