Top of the Pops

Chippies!
Chippies!
These are our top five chip counts (approximate) as of 4pm GMT +11:

Joey Baker - 42,000
Marcus Willis - 37,000
Dave Lee - 32,000
Tony Yarranton - 29,500
Jason Guiliano - 29,000

Yarranton Chips Up

Tony Yarranton has just shot up to the top of our chip counts after eliminating an opponent.

We just managed to catch the board of {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} and the opponent showing down {q-?}{q-?}, but Yarranton had cracked him with a straight holding {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}.

The opponent went busto and Yarranton is up to 29,500 as a result.

Mark Segal: Event 17 winner still in today's field!
Due to unforseen circumstances, PokerNews was unable to provide live reporting coverage of Event 17: $1,150 No Limit Hold'em/Pot Limit Omaha with Rebuys.

The final table of eight players were paid, as follows (all prizes are in AUD):

Amanda Simpson Eliminated

We saw Amanda Simpson out on the rail and she kindly took our request to recall the details of her elimination.

Simpson moved the last of her short stack into the middle from the big blind with {9-?}{9-?} before the flop and found herself with a good chance to double up against an opponent's {a-?}{k-?}.

However a king hit on the flop, then an ace spiked on the river to give her opponent two pair, which held up, thus sending Simpson sailing away.

Recent Eliminations

We have just confirmed that both Raemin 'The Moose' Alexander and Greg Shillig have hit the rail during the first stanza of play.

However the biggest stack to have emerged in the room to date is Jason Guiliano with 29,700 in chips.
