Annette Obrestad's tournament is over

Faure: {K-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The board bricked out {4-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Hearts} to eliminate while Obrestad, while moving Faure into the chiplead at 35,200.

Carter Movin' Up

Carter Phillips
Carter Phillips
The board read {K-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {6-Spades} and one player checked. The next player bet 750 before Carter Phillips made the call. The first player folded.

The river was the {A-Spades} and action was checked to Phillips. He bet 1,500 and his opponent folded. That moved Phillips up to about 18,500.

Moments later, Phillips picked up another pot against the player that had bet the turn in the hand above.

Action folded to that player in the cutoff seat and he moved in for slightly less than 3,000. Phillips was in the big blind and made the call, waking up with two aces -- {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}. The all-in player held {J-Clubs} {J-Hearts}.

The board ran out {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {10-Spades} and Phillips won the hand. He eliminated the other player while bumping himself up to nearly 23,000.

Phillips mentioned that he is in this event for 13 (yes, 13) rebuys. That's a total buy-in of $13,150 if you're wondering. To profit, Phillips will need to come in at least 9th place.

Tino Takes A Hit

Tino Lechich has taken a sizeable hit to his stack in a decent sized pot. We caught action at the river with a {6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} board.

Lechich's opponent had just fired out a bet of 5,500 and Lechich was in the tank. In the end he made the call, and mucked when his opponent turned over {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a set.

Lechich has 6,400.

Bend It Like Benson

Gary Benson
Gary Benson
Preflop, three players limped in to Gary Benson's small blind, and he pumped it up with a raise. All the limpers opted to call, sending it to a {6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop.

Benson his 3,200 stack on the flop with defending champion in this event, Mark Kassis the only player to call.

Before calling Kassis had thought for a bit, before announcing, "I hope you have Ace-Queen Gary," and calling.

Benson had a Queen in his hand, in fact he had two of them, and that would prove a problem for Kassis' {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

The board blanked {8-Clubs} and {8-Spades} to make both players a full house, but Benson's {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} beating out Kassis.

Benson now has 10,400.

Online Kids Take the Battle Live

Two of Adelaide's seemingly never-ending supply of talented online players clashed in a pot recently.

Preflop, James "Andy_McLEOD" Obst opened to 525 with Jonathan 'xMONSTERxDONGx' Karamalikis calling from the cutoff, the blinds decided to come along for the ride and they took a {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop.

The blinds checked to Obst who bet 1,100. Karamalikis raised to 3,300 and the blinds folded. Obst then moved all with Karamalikis calling.

Obst: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Karamalikis: {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The {7-Spades} turn and {4-Diamonds} river blanked off shipping the pot to Obst with Ace high, over Karamlikis' King high.

Pretty standard for the internet kids.

Karamalikis has about 9,000 left, Obst has 11,200.

Neilson's Double Barrell Fails

Daniel Neilson wasn't smiling after failing to push his opponent out
Daniel Neilson wasn't smiling after failing to push his opponent out
Daniel Neilson is back down to 8,000 after a recent pot.

On a flop of {2-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} the player in the small blind checked to Neilson who fired 650 chips. The small blind pondered things for a moment before making the call.

The turn {5-Spades} was a repeat of the flop, with Neilson being check-called by the small blind for 1,075.

The river {5-Hearts} had the small blind check again, and Neilson decided to not go for the triple barrell. He checked behind and mucked upon seeing the opponent's {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.
