Obrestad Building a Stack

Neil Channing and Annette Obrestad may be to most active players in Studio 3 at the moment, it seems like they're involved in every pot.

In this hand, Channing made it 1,025 preflop and was called by an unknown opponent before Obrestad bumped it up to 3,625. Channing got out of the way and Obrestad was called by the remaining player.

The flop brought the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and both players checked.

Not to ruin the party, the two checked the {3-Spades} turn as well.

The {j-Spades} on the river prompted a bet of 1,200 and a call from Obrestad.

Obrestad turned over {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for two pair to best her opponent's {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Huntly Busts Another

Huntly (during Opening Event): back in the hunt
Huntly (during Opening Event): back in the hunt
We caught the action as Dennis Huntly checked from the small blind position to the player in the cutoff on a flop of {10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

The cutoff moved all in; Huntly tanked for about a minute before making the call.

Cutoff: {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Huntly: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Huntly spiked the {j-Clubs} on the turn to take the lead and took down the pot when the {6-Spades} blanked out on the river, sending the opponent packing and Huntly's stack up to 39,500 in chips.

Jackie Glazier Takes A Hit

It's no fun losing.
It's no fun losing.
After a preflop battle of raises and reraises, Andrey Skorin found himself all in for his tournament life against Jackie Glazier. Skorin held pocket aces, and Glazier pocket kings. The board bricked out, and Skorin's aces held, dropping Glazier to the 50,000 mark.

Channing Takes on Annette

Preflop, Neil Channing limp-called Annette Obrestad's 1,025 bet.

The flop rolled out {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and the two checked their way to the turn.

On the {9-Diamonds} turn, Channing made a bet of 800 and Obrestad made the call.

Channing bet 2,100 on the river {7-Spades} and again Obrestad called, although she mucked her cards when Channing showed {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

Lunardi Still Lurking

Kristian Lunardi, who has been battling on a shortstack for some time now, bumped it up to 1,000 preflop, and was called by the big blind. The flop was {2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and the big blind checked, and then raised to 3,200 after Lunardi bet 1,400.

The turn was the {9-Hearts} and the big blind bet 4,000 only to see Lunardi move all in for 9,200 total. The big blind folded and Lunardi is up to 18,000.

Andy Lee-liminated

Andy Lee: felted!
Andy Lee: felted!
Around the same time as best mate and fellow radio show host Hamish Blake was eliminated, Andy Lee got the last of his money into the middle with {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts} on a flop that read {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{7-Spades}, only to be called down by Colin Rich who tabled {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}.

The turn and river ran out {8-Hearts},{6-Clubs}; both players had made two pair but Lee was no good against Rich and as a result, Lee now joins Blake on the rail.

Hamming It Up

Hamish Blake
Hamish Blake
Local radio personality and funnyman Hamish Blake has just been eliminated from the main event, leaving it up to PIC (partner in crime) Andy Lee to make a run at a cash.

Rob Raymond opened with a raise to 2,500 and when the action reached Blake, he moved all in over the top for 8,150. Raymond called and the following showdown ensued:

Blake: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Raymond: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}

The board then ran out {2-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Clubs} giving Raymond a full house, ending Blake's day prematurely.
