Warne's Flipper Fails

Shane Warne
Shane Warne
Shane Warne will have to wait until next year for another shot at the Aussie Millions Main Event title, as he's just been eliminated from the tournament by Andy Lichtenberger. Here's how the hand went down:

Lichtenberger opened the pot with a raise to 900 before the flop and the action made its way around the table to an unknown player on the button who called. The small blind folded, leaving it up to Warne in the big blind, who moved all in for a total of 4,125. Action then returned to Lichtenberger who moved all in over the top, isolating Warne, and the play worked.

With the button player out of the way, Lichtenberger and Warne participated in a preflop all-in showdown:

Warne: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Lichtenberger: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The ensuing board then ran out {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Lichtenberger claimed the pot with ace-king high.
