Woods Wins Flip, Game 1

Dan Smith opened to 125 at 25/50. Darren Woods tossed out two T1,000 chips to put Smith almost all in. Smith shoved for a few hundred more, and it was time for showdown.

Smith: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Woods: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop gave Smith four extra outs, but the {6-Diamonds} turn and {5-Spades} river didn't deliver. Woods is up 1:0.

Woods Takes First Game

Barry Woods raised to 400, and Nikolay Evdakov called to see the {6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop. Evdakov open-shoved the flop for 2,400, and Woods looked him up.

Evdakov: {10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for ten-high and an open-ended straight draw
Woods: {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds} for a better open-ender

The {3-Hearts} turn was a blank, but the {4-Diamonds} river gave Woods an eight-high straight to win the hand and the game.

Alaei and Everett Still Going

Daniel Alaei and Mark Everett both refuse to capitulate. In the latest big hand, Everett raised to 300, and Alaei called. After the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, Daniel bet out 300, and Everett called. Both checked the {q-Diamonds} turn. The {9-Clubs} river put four to a straight on the board. Alaei bet 725. Everett raised him to 1,900. That was enough to force Alaei to fold. He's down to 3,200. Everett is on 6,800.

Evdakov Halved and Doubled

Barry Woods raised the button to 600, and Nikolay Evdakov moved all in. Woods called all in to put himself at risk.

Woods: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Evdakov: {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

The board ran out clean, and Woods doubled up to 8,600. Evdakov got his chips in a few minutes later with {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Woods was flipping with {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Evdakov tapped the table as soon as he saw the {a-Spades} in the door. But he had to apologize as the flop also held the {2-Diamonds}. His set turned into a boat on the {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades} board, and Evdakov doubled to 2,700.
