The quarter-final match between Billy Jordanou and Dan Smith is off to a slow start. In one of the only large pots they've played, they got 1,300 into the middle preflop. Both checked the

flop. Jordanou bet out 1,000 after the
turn, and Smith called. The river fell the
, and this time Jordanou bet 2,100. Smith called again to see Jordanou table
. Smith showed that he also had a king but didn't bother with the other card as he tossed them into the muck.
Jordanou is up to 12,000, leaving Smith with 8,000.
Dan Smith and Billy Jordanou have just sat down to begin their quarter-final match. Each start with 10,000.
David Steike and Mark Everett should be back soon to continue their second-round match. Everett is up 1:0.
Mark Everett put 3,000 in on the button, enough to put David Steike all in, and Steike called with pocket threes. Everett held
. A king in the door was enough to give Everett the first game. The last remaining pair playing the second round is taking a quick break before playing the next game.
Dan Smith and Darren Woods had each won one game, and Smith had worked his way to a chip lead in the third when Woods raised to 325. Smith made it 2,900, enough to put Woods all in. Woods called with
and was in the lead against Smith's
. At least he was in the lead until the flop came

Smith will play Billy Jordanou in the quarter-finals. The winner of that match will move on to Friday's semi-finals and be guaranteed $40,000.
Here is an update on what's happening in the last second round match to start. David Steike is up 5,500 to Mark Everett's 4,500 in the first game. They are passing the same two black chips back and forth while chatting amicably about wine taxes in Asia.
Apparently copious amounts of rhinestones are good for your play. Billy Jordanou was already up one game and had a chip lead in the second. Andrew Pantling moved his last 2,200 in on the button with bllinds at 75/150. Jordanou looked down at
and was only too happy to call. Pantling's
needed to improve to keep him alive. But there wasn't much help to be found on the

board.
Jordanou will play the winner of the Dan Smith v. Darren Woods match in the quarter-finals.
If 16 players turn up as expected for tomorrow's flight, the 32-player event will pay the top four the following:
1st - $150,000
2nd - $90,000
3rd - $40,000
4th - $40,000
Barry Woods defeated Nikolay Evdakov in two straight games to move on to the quarter-finals. There was already 4,000 in the middle by the river. The board read

. Woods moved all in for more than 3,000, and Evdakov thought a bit before calling all in for 2,300. Woods tabled
for runner-runner trips. Evdakov's
may have flopped two pair, but by the river that was no good. He made his exit, and Woods now gets a long break.
Woods will play the winner of the David Steike v. Mark Everett match, but Steike still hasn't appeared to start playing.
Dan Smith raised to 1,000, and Darren Woods shoved. Smith called with
to flip with Woods'

The

flop but King Dan in the lead. The board finished with the

on the river, and Smith won the second game. The winner of the next game will go on to the quarter-finals.
