Aristidou Gone

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

Peter Aristidou is the latest elimination, his {a-}{j-} getting sucked out on by the {10-}{9-} of Tim Grigg.

With Aristidou allin preflop, the board would run out {7-}{8-}{3-}{q-}{6-}. The rivered straight for Grigg sending Aristidou home shy of the money.

Thanks Alek, That's Two Gone

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

Alek Givotovsky has eliminated two players from his table after he has now taken the tournament life of Janis Lesinkis.

Givotovsky raised from the hijack and when Lesinkis moved allin from the small blind, Givotovsky would snap call and table {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} a dominating hand against the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Lesinkis.

The board ran out {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Givotovsky moved to 225,000 while moving his table ever closer to the cash.

Mariakis On The Coaster

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

Michael Mariakis has had a rollercaoster few minutes first losing a flip when he got Michael Ip allin holding {9-}{9-} against Ip's {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. Mariakis was no chance when the board rolled out {5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}, the full hous sending Mariakis down to 28,000.

Just a few hands later though and Mariakis would have his revenge, getting Ip allin holding {k-Spades}{j-Clubs} against his own {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. The board would brick out, Mariakis' jacks holding up and moving his stack back up to over 85,000.

Eliminations.

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

The first few players have been eliminated from their tables, sent home just shy of the cash.

First was Simon Taberham when he couldnt hold up with {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} against {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. Next to go from his table was Trung Tran when he couldnt catch any cards holding {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} against {a-}{k-} and then it was John Lombardo sent to the rail from his table when he got no help holding {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} against Tom Grigg's {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}.

Each of these player's eliminations puts their tables one step closer to the money.

How This Works

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

The players will each be at an 8-handed table, playing down to two players who will go through to the final table.

The top 6 at each of the tables will be in the money, with set payouts for finishing 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th at each table and of course the top 2 going through to the final table where the payouts start jumping.

The payouts at each table will look as follows.

5th-6th: AUD$2,500
4th: AUD$4,000
3rd: AUD$6,250

Then the remaining two players will come back to play it out at the final table. So, lets do this.

The Players

These are the remaining 32 players who have taken their seats in the shootout part of the tournament. Only 24 players will pay.

Shootout Set

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

The clock has been paused and the players sent on a twenty minute break while the tables are redrawn and the shoutout can begin.

Stay tuned for table draws and details.

Eames Gets The Shootout Started

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

With 33 players remaining, the players would be breaking their tables and moving to the shootout format after the next elimination. With some players unhappy about the hand for hand play, it didn't take long for the final player to be eliminated.

On a board reading {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}, John Eames got it allin holding {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} besting his opponent's lesser two-pair, holding {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}.

With that bust out, Eames is now one of our chip leaders with 130,000 and players are now on a 25 minutes break while the tables are redrawn.

Luke Santos Dominated

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 200 ante

Luke Santos has been eliminated from another Aussie Millions Event holding a dominating hand.

Following a raise from under the gun, Santos pushed allin for 28,100. The three-bet did not phase Joel Dodds though as he too move allin for 31,000. This prompted the blinds and the under the gun raiser to get out of the way.

Santos was looking good to double holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades} against Dodds' {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} on the {4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop, however the {k-Hearts} on the turn and {9-Clubs} on the river would mean Santos' hard days work would come crashing down.

Dodds moves up to approximately 70,000 in chips.
