Double for Tezay

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a board of {8-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the pot at only a few thousand, Aytunc Tezay shipped in his remaining 7,150 with Tolly Sakellariou making the call.

Tezay: {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Sakellariou: {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

The river landed the {6-Spades} ensuring Tezay found a double to over 17,000 as Sakellariou stated, "I put you on a flush draw!"

"That's where you went wrong. You thought!" added Tezay as he raked in the pot.

Griffin Makes Nuts After Firing All Streets

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

From under the gun, Gavin Griffin raised to 600. Jamie Pickering called from the cutoff seat, the button called and Dennis Huntly called from the small blind to make for four-way action to the flop with 2,600 chips in the middle.

After the flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, Huntly checked to the preflop aggressor Griffin. He fired a continuation bet of 1,300 and Pickering called. The player on the button got out of the way and Huntly also folded, leaving half of the players to the turn.

Fourth street brought the {6-Spades} and Griffin bet 2,200. Just as he wasn't slowing down, Pickering wasn't going anywhere and made the call.

The river card was the {A-Hearts} and completed the board. It didn't complete the action though as Griffin bet 5,800. Pickering pulled the 5,800 aside from his stack and contemplated his decision before finally tossing in the chips to make the call. After he did so, Griffin turned over the {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} for just the nuts. Pickering mucked his hand and dropped back to 18,300 in chips. Griffin rose to 34,000.

Benson Folds River

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Facing a limp under the gun, Gary Benson made it 525 to go next to speak as both the small blind and the limper made the call.

Benson fired out a continuation-bet of 900 on the {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop as only the limper made the call.

The turn of the {k-Spades} was checked through before the limper led for 2,125 when the river landed the {A-Diamonds}.

Benson thought for nearly two minutes before laying his hand down while slipping to 12,700 in chips.

Oppenheim Exits as Rowe Surges

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
David Oppenheim (middle) during the $25,000 Shootout Invitational
David Oppenheim (middle) during the $25,000 Shootout Invitational

David Oppenheim entered the pot from middle position with a raise to 450 and found a caller in Roy Vandersluis and the button before Martin Rowe three-bet to 1,800 from the small blind.

Oppenheim and the button were the only two callers as the flop landed {2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Rowe paused momentarily before sliding out a bet of 2,600 which only Oppenheim called as the {6-Hearts} rolled off on the turn.

Taking a step back from his previously aggressive line, Rowe tapped the table indicating a check as Oppenheim pushed out a bet of 4,300. Rowe went into the tank for near on two minutes before making the call as the {3-Spades} peeled off on the river.

Rowe took his time before checking as Oppenheim moved all in for his last 10,625. Rowe would again use all of his alloted time to come to a decision - and after several minutes - that decision would involve him tossing in his final 11,675 into the pot.

Rowe tabled his {Q-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}, and as Oppenheim shook his head and mucked, he waited upon the verification that he was indeed out before tapping the table and wishing his opponents good luck.

For the Full Tilt Poker Red Pro, his trip to Australia has been a successful one although he was an early casualty in both the $100,000 Challenge and this main event.

Just a few days ago, Oppenheim was victorious in the Full Tilt Poker $25,000 Shootout Invitational for AUD$250,000, and with a few more tournaments on offer, along with a high stakes cash game tonight, there is still plenty of chances for Oppenheim to head back to Las Vegas with a few extra coins in his pocket!

Sbrzesny Forced to Fold River

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

On the flop of {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, Bodo Sbrzesny checked to his opponent. The player bet 1,600 and Sbrzesny made the call to see the {3-Diamonds} fall on the turn. Sbrzesny checked again and his opponent increased his bet size to 3,600 this time. Once again, Sbrzesny made the call.

The river completed the board with the {4-Spades} and Sbrzesny checked. His opponent really upped the ante with an all-in shove worth 14,350. After a little bit of thought, Sbrzesny gave it up and was kicked back to 35,500 in chips.

Full Tilt's Feldman Chips Up

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With 4,300 chips splashed in the middle of the table, the board read {Q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Full Tilt Poker's Andrew Feldman was involved. Feldman's opponent fired 2,500 and after a minute in the tank, Feldman raised to 7,300. His opponent tapped the table and then mucked his hand, allowing Feldman to pick up the pot and chip up to 21,200 in chips.

Perfect Set Up for Sarwer

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

On a {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, a short-stacked Michael Fusco open-shoved with {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. All Jeff Sarwer had to do was call with his {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Middle set held through the {2-Clubs} turn, making the river meaningless. Fusco was eliminated while Sarwer moved up to 28,000.

"It's amazing," Sarwer told a tablemate. "After playing like a maniac I pick up monsters like this. That's the beauty of it." We doubt his table agrees.

Hachem Wins with River Bet

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Facing a raise in the hi-jack to 500, Joe Hachem three-bet the cutoff to 1,250.

His opponent smooth-called before leading the {K-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} flop for 1,500. Hachem made the call before both players softly tapped the table when the turn landed the {A-Spades} as the {2-Spades} rolled off on the river.

The hi-jack checked and following a few minutes deliberating, Hachem dropped in a bet of 3,500. His opponent swiftly mucked as Hachem moved to 26,500 in chips.

Vandersluis Fighting Back

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Roy Vandersluis (from an earlier event)
Roy Vandersluis (from an earlier event)

After copping a bad beat on the last hand before the break, Roy Vandersluis has managed to regain some of his chips.

Limp calling 700 from early position, Vandersluis check-called 850 on the {9-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} flop before both players checked the {3-Hearts} on the turn.

On the river of the {Q-Spades}, Vandersluis tossed in a bet of 1,000 to force a fold from his opponent while he climbed to 13,000 in chips.
