Antonius Takes a Big One

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Patrik Antonius (Day 2)
Patrik Antonius (Day 2)

With approximately 500,000 in the middle, the board read {Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{K-Spades}. Action was on Patrik Antonius and he was in the tank. His opponent was Tobias Reinkemeier and sat awaiting the decision of the stone-faced Antonius. After a couple minutes, Antonius moved out a bet of 380,000 into the middle.

It was now Reinkemeier's turn to tank. He thought for several minutes as Antonius sat as motionless as a statue. Reinkemeier had around 540,000 left in his stack, but eventually thought it was best to give this one up. Antonius pulled back his bet and then raked in the pot, moving up to 1.32 million in chips.

Bonkowski Club'd

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Tyler Bonkowski shipped his remaining 153,000 into the pot and Michael Ryan made the call from the small blind.

Bonkowski: {J-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Ryan: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The {6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{K-Clubs} flop kept Ryan in the lead, but still left outs to Bonkowski to a flush, jack or a backdoor straight draw.

The turn of the {A-Clubs} was all that Bonkowski was in need for, and when the meaningless {9-Diamonds} landed on the river, he doubled through to 320,000 as Ryan slipped to 700,000.

Kirk in the Penalty Box

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Matthew Kirk just received a one-round penalty for revealing his intentions prior to his action for the second time after receiving a warning about this sort of thing. He now has to sit out six hands until the button gets back to him.

Sanchez Rodriguez Eliminated in 24th Place (AUD$45,000)

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After just doubling up, Sanchez Rodriguez pushed again for his 139,000-chip stack and Sorel Mizzi made the call from the button.

Rodriguez: {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Mizzi: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop kept Rodriguez behind, and when the {7-Hearts} landed on the turn, Rodriguez would need just one of the three aces in the deck to remain in the Aussie Millions.

Unfortunately for Rodriguez, the river landed the {10-Spades} to see him finish in twenty-fourth place for an AUD$45,000 payday as Mizzi climbs to 1,330,000 in chips.

Rodriguez Doubles

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Sanchez Rodriguez was all in for 61,000 with the {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}. He was up against the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for Cliff Lee, but in a dominating position to double up on the short stack. The board of {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} made it sure that Rodriguez doubled and he's got some life back again.

Vos and Smith Battling; Trying to Go Deep Again

Action folded to Mark Vos on the button and he raised to 18,000. Elliot Smith three-bet from the big blind to 46,000. Vos came back with a four-bet to 100,000 and Smith gave it up.

On the very next hand, Vos raised to 17,000 from the cutoff seat. Smith three-bet him again, this time to 44,000. Vos folded and revealed the {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Both of these players have made deep runs in the Aussie Millions Main Event before. Vos ran deep in 2006, placing eighth and just missing out on the official final table in this event, which is set at seven players. He earned AUD$83,600 for that effort. Smith has had two deep runs in the event. He placed third in 2009 for AUD$700,000 and then last year followed it up with a 15th-place finish for $75,000. Both are still in right now with 24 players remaining and looking to score their best finish yet!

Emanuel Seal Eliminated in 25th Place (AUD$35,000)

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Emanuel Seal - 25th Place
Emanuel Seal - 25th Place

Chris Moorman opened his button to 18,000 before Cliff Lee made the call from the small blind. With the action on Emanuel Seal, he pushed his last 157,000 into the middle from the big blind to force Moorman's cards into the muck.

Lee and Seal exchanged some inaudible banter before Lee eventually announced call.

Seal: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Lee: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

With Seal in the lead, the {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop saw him sink into domination before the {Q-Hearts} on the turn gave him some sort of hope to stay alive.

Unfortunately for Seal, the river landed the {K-Hearts} to end his tournament in twenty-fifth place to mark his second Aussie Millions Main Event cash following a tenth place in 2006.
