Adam Cusenza Eliminated in 28th Place (AUD$35,000)

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Adam Cusenza - 28th Place
Adam Cusenza - 28th Place

Cliff Lee opened to 18,000 from under the gun only to have Adam Cusenza three-bet to 51,000 from the button.

Once the action returned to Lee, he moved all in for in-excess of 550,000 to put Cusenza to a decision.

"First time I've three-bet you all day!" announced Cusenza.

"Do you want a call?" continued Cusenza before Lee responded with, "I don't mind!"

Eventually Cusenza announced a call and flipped over his {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} to be in the lead against Lee's {A-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

Unfortunately for Cusenza, the {7-Spades}{k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop thrust Lee into the lead before the {8-Spades} and {10-Hearts} saw the board complete.

As Cusenza headed to the rail, Lee soared to 1,030,000 in chips.

Christopher Mounteney Eliminated in 29th Place (AUD$35,000)

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On a flop of {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, Christopher Mounteney found himself all in from the small blind against Jeff Rossiter on the button.

Mounteney: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Rossiter: {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The {10-Hearts} on the turn saw Rossiter capture the lead turning a straight, but with Mounteney needing any heart to remain alive, there was still a sweat.

Unfortunately it would be all anti-climatical as the {2-Spades} found its way on the river to end Mounteney's tournament in twenty-ninth place as Rossiter climbed to 350,000 in chips.

Chop It Up

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Sam Razavi raised to 16,000 and Jamie Perkins moved all in for 81,000 total. Razavi made the call with {q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} but was dominated by Perkins with the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and they chopped it up.

Rodriguez Crushed as Antonius Soars to Seven Figures

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the board of {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}, the man with both first and last name ending in "Z", Sanchez Rodriguez, checked to Patrik Antonius. Antonius bet 65,000 and Rodriguez made the call. The river completed the board with the {8-Diamonds} and Rodriguez checked again. Antonius bet 160,000 and Rodriguez called. Antonius tabled the {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts} to beat Rodriguez's {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and win the pot.

Rodriguez was crushed on the hand with his river call, getting knocked all the way down to 12,000. Antonius moved to over a million with 1.05 million in chips.

Mizzi with Some River Aggression

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Martin Pecnik opened to 27,000 from the small blind with Sorel Mizzi making the call to see a {4-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop fall.

Pecnik continued for 27,000 with Mizzi making the call as the {10-Diamonds} landed on the turn with Pecnik firing again; this time for 40,000.

On the river of the {2-Spades}, Pecnik pushed out a 60,000-chip bet only to have Mizzi move all in.

Pecnik foldd while slipping to just under 180,000 as Mizzi soared to 1,005,000 in chips.

Mizzi Fires Flop, Turn and River

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

First up, last year's third-place finisher Sorel Mizzi bet 52,000 on the flop of {Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Randy Lew made the call before Randy Dorfman mucked.

The turn brought the {6-Spades} and Mizzi bet out 87,000. Lew again made the call to see the {10-Hearts} come down on the river. Mizzi fired again -- 183,000 this time. Lew tanked for a bit and then released his hand. Mizzi won the pot and moved to 890,000 while Lew dropped back to 375,000.
