When we passed Jay "SEABEAST" Kinkade's table we noticed that he was sitting behind a much larger stack than last time we saw him. When we opened Twitter, we found out how.
"Doubled to 130k at 8/1600. Checkraise 992xxh 3.5->8.7. Turn Kh 11.9 call. River 8h shove 30.6k he tank calls. Me t9 dealer makes him show 55"
A short-stacked David Gorr moved all in under the gun for 6,300 and was called by Billy "The Croc" Argyros in middle position. The rest of the field cleared out of the way and Gorr discovered that he was dominated.
Showdown
Gorr:
Argyros:
"Diamond," Gorr pleaded after the flop, vainly hoping for a runner-runner flush. "Heart," Argyros teased after the appeared on the turn. It was down to the river for Gorr, who needed a four to survive, but it was not mean to be as the bricked.
Gorr shook hands with Argyros and wished the table good luck, a kind gesture by the defending Aussie Millions Champion; meanwhile, "The Croc" is up to 27,000.
Martin Kozlov has risen up the chip leaders this evening, currently sitting behind a very healthy stack of over 60,000.
We caught a recent hand in which Kozlov added to his stack. A raised pot saw Kozlov and one opponent take to a flop. Kozlov led for 4,100, all the while receiving what looked like a very thorough massage from one of the masseuse's in the Crown Poker Room.
Kozlov's opponent made the call and the landed on the turn. This is when the masseuse really started getting into Kozlov's neck, with a 12,000-chip bet coming through a cringed face.
The opponent let go of his hand and Kozlov raked in the chips and got back to his massage.
When we happened by Table 47, we noticed Dan Kelly was gone and his former spot void of chips. Billy "The Croc" Argyros was kind enough to fill us in in the details. According to the Croc, Kelly got all in preflop with and was up against the of his opponent. The flop kept Kelly in the lead, but provided his opponent a flush draw.
The turn gave Kelly even more cards to dodge, but he couldn't do it as the spiked on the river to send him to the rail.
Raemin Alexander did not return from the break. Apparently Alexander jammed his short stack in the middle holding and receieved a call from Steve Topakas who held . Obviously no help came for the man they call "Jake the Moose".
We're not sure how it happened, but Sorel Mizzi has been eliminated from the tournament. When we returned from break, Mizzi's former seat was occupied by another play, He was one of several players who took advantage of the repechage format and bought in three time, obviously to no avail.
While we were sitting at our desk, Vesko Zmukic walked by and briefly informed us of his elimination, which came after his lost a race to . Zmukic took full advantage of the repecharge format, entering all three days, but was unable to advance to Day 2.
At the beginning of the day we told you about Table 47, which was among the toughest in the room with Jim Collopy, Joseph Cheong, and Dan Kelly. Only the latter has been able to survive, but thanks to some rearranging, Table 47 is tough again.
Joining Kelly are Australian legend and Poker Hall of Famer Billy "The Croc" Argyros, and last year's Aussie Millions Champion, David Gorr.
