Dutch favorite Bryan Ruiter is mashing it up right now with a big 117,000 stack. Joe Elpayaa started laughing as Ruiter explained the hand he just won, it's a beauty!
After a raise to 1,200 Bryan Ruiter raised to 3,000 from the button with off suit. The player in the big blind, who had been messing around earlier according to Ruiter, four-bet to 8,000 and the initial raiser folded. Elpayaa was really kicking himself now and Ruiter smiled as he said he decided to call.
The flop came down and Ruiter faced a 10,000 chip bet. He opted to call and the turn was another . Gin for Ruiter who checked behind after his opponent decided to slow down. On the river a popped up and it got checked to Ruiter once more. The Dutchman decided to throw out 15,000 and got called by . Good value for Ruiter who was planning on bluffing, but ended up not even needing to risk a lot of chips.
Phil Ivey bet 4,500 on the board and Fady Alam made the call. The next player folded and then a fourth player called as well.
The river paired the board with the and Ivey bet 11,000. Alam called all in for 925 and the other player folded. Alam then tabled the for a full house, eights over threes. Ivey mucked and Alam doubled up.
In a huge hand earlier (read all about it here) Phil Ivey got into a dispute about string betting. The ruling was called against him but apparently they made an exception from that point on.
On a board Ivey bet 3,500 in his usual style and the dealer noticed it right away. "That's a string bet sir" he claimed as Ivey defended his actions.
"They allow it now for Americans because it's a habit", Ivey said with an apologizing look on his face. The Italian player he was up against couldn't quite fathom what was going on and they started discussing the situation. The floor came over and said Ivey's action was fast enough for it to be a legit bet and his 3,500 chips stayed in the pot. His opponent tanked for a bit and eventually folded his cards. "There", Ivey said with a straight face as he tabled his . The best player in the world still doesn't seem very happy, but at least his stack is still massive.
The under-the-gun player limped in and then Daniel Negreanu limped from the hijack seat. The small blind completed the bet and the big blind raised to 2,600. The first limper folded, Negreanu called and the small blind folded.
After the flop came down , both players checked to see the land on the turn. The big blind bet 2,000 and Negreanu folded.
From under the gun, Angel Guillen opened to 1,300. Action folded around to the woman in the small blind and she called. Chris Ozer was in the big blind and three-bet to 3,600. Guillen gave it a little bit of thought, but folded. The small blind also folded and Ozer won the pot. He showed the .
From under the gun, the runner-up from last night's Event 11: $550 No-Limit Hold'em Chris Ozer raised to 1,250. Angel Guillen three-bet from under the gun plus one and made it 2,900 to go. Action then folded back around to Ozer and he called to see the flop.
The flop came down and Ozer tossed out a bet of 5,000. Guillen took his time with his decision. After a minute or two, Guillen decided to shove and stuck all of his 17,500 chips into the middle. Ozer thought for about 40 seconds and then folded.
From the cut-off the Swedish player Robin Ylitalo raised to 800, the action got to former EPT Grand Final runner-up Matt Woodward who three-bet from the blinds to 2,300. Ylitalo wanted to make it bit more expensive to play a flop, he bumped it up to 5,100. Woodward wasn't done either as he slid forward 11,200 to five bet his opponent. Ylitalo decided this was the time to stop messing around and he put Woodward all-in. Woodward, who started the hand with approximately 55,000 chips according to Ylitalo, ended up tanking for quite some time before making the call.

The board ran out ending Woodward's tournament. Ylitalo is now one of the chip leader sitting with a massive 149,500 stack.
