What a Flop!

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Chris Haywood opened to 4,000 from under the gun, Fazel Dawood three-bet to 8,600 on his direct left, and the action folded back to Haywood, who four-bet to 19,000. Dawood moved all in for effectively 43,000, and Haywood quickly called, putting himself at risk.

Haywood: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Dawood: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

The dealer rapped the table, then delivered an incredible flop: {k-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{a-Hearts}.

Dawood was drawing dead.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}, and just for kicks and giggles, the {a-Diamonds} completed the board, giving Haywood quads.

He doubled to 90,000 chips, while Dawood slipped to 35,000.

"Too Early for You to Go Home, Joe"

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We stumbled upon a hand over on Table 43 with around 18,000 already in the pot and a board reading {4-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades}. We're not sure whether or not Jan Collado bet or checked, but we do know 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Joe Hachem had his entire stack of 22,000 out in front of him. Collado was in the tank when we arrived, and we watched him agonize over the call. He counted out chips, leaned back in his chair and stretched all before he flicked his cards to the muck.

"Too early for you to go home, Joe," another player at the table said with a smile.

Despite losing that hand, Collado is still up from the last time we checked in on him.

Kamutzki Doubles

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Heinz Kamutzki was all in preflop for 39,600 with the {A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. He was in dominating position against the {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for Toby Lewis. The flop, turn and river ran out {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, and Kamutzki doubled up.

Silver Continues to Build

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Nate Silver, the creator of the FiveThirtyEight blog and author of The Signal and the Noise, recently joined the PokerNews Podcast to talk about his trip to Melbourne, his poker skills, and the Main Event.

Silver is in today's field and he's doing incredibly well; in fact, he looks to be top five in chips. In a recent hand, Silver opened from the hijack for 4,000 and received a call from Samir Khoueis in the big blind. The latter then checked the {6-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{Q-Spades} and Silver moved all in. Khoueis, who only had 10,000 behind, folded while muttering his frustrations under his breath.

Meanwhile, Ayaz Mahmood has been eliminated from the tournament.

Adams is a Hero

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Brandon Adams
Brandon Adams

Brandon Adams opened in late position, a player defended from the big blind, and the flop fell {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. The player checked, Adams continued for 4,500, and the player called. The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, both players checked, and the {a-Spades} completed the board.

The player led out for 11,000, sending Adams into the tank. He studied his opponent before reaching for chips, then committed enough to make the call. The player rapped the table then turned over {8-}{7-} - we think at least one of the cards was a heart.

Adams tabled {k-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for aces and sixes with a king kicker, raking in the pot.
