Gruissem Takes Another Off Hansen

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Erik Seidel opened the action with a raise to 13,000 from under the gun plus one. Gus Hansen flat-called from the cutoff seat, but then Philipp Gruissem upped the price to 39,000 on the button. Seidel folded, and Hansen called.

Hansen and Gruissem both checked the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop to see the {A-Spades} come out on fourth street. Hansen checked, and Gruissem fired 35,000. Hansen quickly folded to give Gruissem the pot.

Phua Takes One Off Hansen

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

From early position, Richard Yong raised to 12,000. Gus Hansen called on the button, and Paul Phua called from the big blind. From there, the three players took an {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, and action checked to Hansen. He bet 15,500, Phua called, and Yong got out of the way.

The {2-Spades} was added to the board on the turn, and Phua checked. Hansen checked behind to see the {10-Hearts} land on the river. Both players checked again.

Phua showed the {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, and Hansen mucked his hand.

Hansen Busts To Yong, but Phua Puts Him Right Back In

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Gus Hansen moved all in for 33,600 on the {9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop. Richard Yong called with the {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and Hansen held the {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

The turn was the {5-Spades}, and the river was the {8-Diamonds}. Hansen had missed and was eliminated, but...

"Can I get a rebuy for him?" yelled out Paul Phua from the table, pointing at Hansen. "On my account, please," he finished. The tournament staff nodded, and Hansen was right back into the event.

Mercier's Bluff Fails

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Phillipp Gruissem raised to 13,000 and Paul Phua decided to make the call. Jason Mercier three-bet to 32,800 and Gruissem folded his cards. Phua hesitated for a few seconds and then he made the call.

The flop brought out {6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Phua check-called 27,300. On the turn the {4-Spades} hit and both players checked.

The river brought the {A-Spades} and Phua checked again. This time Mercier bet 62,300 and right at that time we saw Andrew Robl all in on the other table. By the time we came back the hand was done and Fabian Quoss told us that Mercier had shown {K-}{J-} and lost to Phua's {5-}{5-}.

"Rebuy! Chips! Chips!"

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Those words just came out of Andrew Robl's mouth after he lost an all in against Tony Bloom.

The flop read {Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts} when Robl had checked to Bloom who bet 19,000. Robl check-raised to 44,000 after which Bloom moved all in. Robl made the call and showed {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} versus Bloom's {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and the river the {2-Diamonds} giving Robl a knockout blow.

"Rebuy! Chips! Chips!" Robl yelled with a smile on his face. So far we've seen three eliminations and just as many rebuys.

Gruissem Gets Some Value

Level 4 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

After Gus Hansen raised to 9,000 from the hijack seat, Philipp Gruissem reraised to 24,000 in the cutoff seat. Action folded back to Hansen, and he made the call to take the {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop out of position.

On the flop, Hansen checked, and Gruissem checked back. The turn was the {J-Diamonds}, and both players checked again. The river then completed the board with the {Q-Hearts}, and Hansen checked. Gruissem bet 22,000, and Hansen tank-called after claiming, "This is very weird... very weird."

Gruissem tabled the {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} for a pair of jacks, and Hansen mucked his hand.

Turn Check-Raise Wins for Yu

Level 4 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Tobias Reinkemeier opened to 8,000 from early position, Andrew Robl three-bet to 21,000 from the hijack seat, and Winfred Yu called out of the small blind. Reinkemeier called, and the flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Here, all three players checked.

The {2-Spades} landed on the turn, and Yu checked. Reinkemeier bet 37,000, and Robl folded. Yu check-raised to 107,000, and that sent Reinkemeier deep into the tank. Eventually, he folded, and Yu won the pot.

Quoss and Gruissem Chop

Level 4 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Fabian Quoss raised from the cutoff seat to 8,000, and he found calls from Philipp Gruissem in the small blind and Paul Phua in the big blind.

The dealer fanned the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{3-Spades} flop, and the first two players checked to Quoss. He slid forward a bet of 15,000, and Gruissem called. Phua folded.

On the {3-Hearts} turn that paired the board, Gruissem checked, Quoss bet 30,000, and Gruissem made the call.

The river was the {J-Diamonds}, and both players finished off the hand with a check.

Gruissem tabled the {A-Spades}{10-Spades}, and Quoss showed the {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. That gave both players aces and threes with the queen kicker on board, and they chopped up the pot.
