Let's Have Ourselves a Break

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Another level is in the books, and that means it's time for another 15-minute break. When the players return, they'll play three more 90-minute levels before bagging and tagging for the night.

While you wait, check out the following video (which is our first from the 2014 Aussie Millions):

Amir Bleeding

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Amir Minagar, who rocketed out of the gates and up the chip counts at the start of the day, is falling down towards the starting stack.

In a recent hand, he three-bet to 1,700 over an open to 650. The player on his direct left put in a very small four-bet - it looked like 3,000 - and the action folded back to Minagar, who called.

The flop fell {2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}, Minagar check-called a bet of 2,000, and the turn was the {10-Diamonds}. Minagar checked, his opponent fired out another 5,000, and Minagar folded.

The Sun Sets on Westmorland

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante
Jordan Westmorland
Jordan Westmorland

Jordan "JWPRODIGY" Westmorland, an American who relocated to Thailand to play online and grind live tournaments in the Asia-Pacific region, was recently eliminated from the tournament. It happened when action folded to Westmorland in the hijack and he shoved his last 3,750. Naoya Kihara of PokerStars Team Online made the call from the cutoff and the rest of the field folded.

Westmorland: {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Kihara: {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

It was a bad spot for Westmorland, and according to the PokerNews Odds Calculator he had just an 11.68% chance of winning the hand while Kihara would score the knockout 85.57% of the time. The {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop made things interesting as Westmorland's open-ended straight draw saw his chances of survival jump to 42.42%.

The {3-Spades} turn was a blank, and that meant Kihara was a 3-1 favorite headed to the river. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {2-Hearts}. "Good luck," Westmorland said before making a hasty exit from the tournament floor.

Greenwood Folds the River

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Lucas Greenwood led out for 900 on a board of {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}, and his lone opponent made the call.

The {8-Hearts} completed the board, Greenwood fired out another 1,400, and his opponent raised to 4,400. Greenwood's eyes widened at the sight of the rather large raise, and he flicked his cards into the muck.

"Diamond Saved You I Think"

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

With around 2,000 in the pot and a flop of {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, the big blind checked and Paul "The Voice" Khoury tossed out a single T1,000 chip. The big blind made the call and then checked for a second time when the {10-Diamonds} turned. Khoury doubled his bet to 2,000, but it still wasn't enough to shake his opponent.

When the {2-Diamonds} river put four diamonds on the board, both players checked and Khoury tabled the {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a flopped set. The big blind then revealed the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a turned set of tens.

"Diamond saved you I think," another player at the table told a flabbergasted Khoury. Indeed, had the board paired on the river there certainly could have been some fireworks.

Tollefsen Doubles Through Kiletto

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Lily Kiletto opened to 800 from early position, and the action folded to Henrik Tollefsen, who put in a small three-bet on the button. Kiletto made the call, and the two took a flop of {5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Kiletto checked, Tollefsen bet 1,400, and his Floridian opponent called. The turn was the {9-Spades}, Kiletto knuckled again, and Tollefsen moved all in for 5,075. Kiletto asked for a count, then quickly made the call.

Tollefsen: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Kiletto: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {6-Clubs} on the river was a brick, and the Finn doubled to 17,000 chips. Kiletto is still very healthy with 80,000.

Barer of Bad News

Level 4 : 150/300, 25 ante

Ami Barer check-called a bet of 2,000 from an opponent on a flop of {2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. The turn was the suicide king ({k-Hearts}), both players knuckled, and the {j-Spades} completed the board.

Barer led out, making it 2,700 to go, and his opponent called fairly quickly. Barer mucked his hand, and his opponent showed {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of fives.
