Douaglin Busts Wilson

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Joshua Wilson has just seen his tournament life come to an end, and the deadly blow came at the hands of Joel Douaglin who had flopped a set against his overpair.

On the {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop, Douaglin and Wilson got all the money in. Douaglin had Wilson covered by around 50,000, and he had also flopped the best hand with the {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for middle set. Wilson had an overpair with {9-}{9-}.

The {2-Clubs} turn card and {A-Clubs} river card kept Douaglin's set best, and he won the pot to send Wilson to the rail.

Rast Leaps into Chip Lead

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Brian Rast
Brian Rast

Brian Rast has just won one of, if not the biggest, pot of the tournament to leap into the chip lead with 1,120,000.

He and Don Mishra had made it to the river with around about 400,000 in the middle and the board read {7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{q-Spades}. Rast was first to act and bet 300,000, enough to send Mishra into the tank for several minutes. Eventually he nodded and said, "Okay, I call."

Rast opened {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} for top set, beating out Mishra's {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}. The man from Singapore will have to rebuild from 92,000 now.

Luo Chewed Up and Spit Out By Aces

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

A short-stacked Louis Luo got his last 35,000 all in preflop holding the {5-Spades}{6-Spades} and was way behind the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} of Tyrone Liu. The board ran out a clean {3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Hearts} and Luo made his way to the payout desk in 59th place for AU$15,000.

Meanwhile, American Kane Kalas, the son of the legendary sportscaster Harry Kalas, was eliminated from the tournament in 62nd place.

Updated Chip Counts from Table 11

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Scott Felled in 63rd Place

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Corey Scott got his last 55,000 all in preflop holding the {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and had some serious kicker issues against the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} of Raemin Alexander. The {2-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop didn't do Scott any favors, though the {3-Clubs} turn did give him some outs to a chop.

Scott was looking for either a four or jack on the river, but it wasn't in the cards as the {9-Hearts} bricked. Scott exited in 63rd place and took home AU$15,000 for his performance.

Back-to-Back Cashes for O'Dea

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Eoghan O'Dea has cashed in the Main Event for the second year in a row but, unfortunately for him, they'll be no repeat of his 2014 8th place finish. He was eliminated after running into Michael Pedley's full house.

The players were in the blinds and took to a {q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop. Pedley check-called a 23,000 bet from the Irishman before both players checked the {q-Clubs} turn. After the river came out {8-Clubs}, Pedley led for 47,000 and called when O'Dea shoved for less than twice that.

Pedley opened {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and O'Dea mucked and made his way to the payout desk.

Pocket Rockets Propel Ivey to a Double

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

We picked up the action with approximately 80,000 in the pot and a board reading {4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. Richard "nutsinho" Lyndaker was debating what to do from the big blind, and eventually he announced that he was all in. Phil Ivey, who was on the button, wasted little time in calling off his remaining 98,000.

Lyndaker: {3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Ivey: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Lyndaker pulled ahead of Ivey's aces on the turn, but his lead was only temporary as the {6-Diamonds} spiked on the river to give Ivey a winning flush and the double.

Teng and Ramos Exit Stage Left

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Melania Ramos was the only woman to cash the 2015 Aussie Millions Main Event.
Melania Ramos was the only woman to cash the 2015 Aussie Millions Main Event.

Dylan Honeyman opened for 12,000 under the gun only to have Victor Teng three-bet all in from the button for right around 100,000. Raiden Kan thought for a bit before flatting from the small blind, and both the big blind and Honeyman got out of the way.

Teng: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Kan: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

The {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop gave Teng a gutshot straight draw to a non-diamond nine, but it proved to be a moot point as the {K-Diamonds} turn left him drawing dead. The {6-Diamonds} river put a flush on the board, but of course Kan's ace of diamonds gave him the pot.

Meanwhile, Melania Ramos was also eliminated from the tournament. It's worth noting Ramos was the last woman remaining in the tournament and the only one to cash.

Karawgodagedon Busts to Ho

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

"YES, YES!" shouted Calvin Ho as he jumped out of his seat in celebration and practically ran around the room.

"I'd hate to see his reaction if he wins this thing!" commented a railer.

Ho had just eliminated Jayawardhana Karawgodagedon in a preflop all in showdown.

Ho: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Karawgodagedon: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The board ran {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} to send the pot to the man with the biggest smile in the southern hemisphere. Karawgodagedon took the defeat well, shaking Ho's hand once he settled back down.
