Bouya Folds

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Earlier today, Phares Bouya had shoved into Niall Farrell and the Scot folded. Just now, Bouya fired two small barrels out of the blinds and made it 26,000 to go on the {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{J-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} river. Farrell raised to 65,000 and than eventually got his opponent to fold. The EPT12 Malta champion is back to the usual grind and among the top 10 in the overall counts.

Scagnetti Slipping

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Adriano Scagnetti
Adriano Scagnetti

Since jumping out to an early lead here on Day 2, things have really gone downhill for Adriano Scagnetti.

Moments ago, he called Ryan Paton's shove on a {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Spades} board with the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. He was drawing to a straight against Paton's {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} set, but Paton made quads on the {j-Clubs} river to aid in Scagnetti's recent downward trend.

Butch Bests Seymour

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Luke Butch just jumped into contention, cutting Michael Seymour down to size.

With about 100,000 sitting in the pot, Seymour bet 100,000 on a {9-}{9-}{9-}{5-}{7-} board. Butch tanked for a couple of minutes before making the call with the {10-}{10-}.

His boat was better than Seymour's, who held the {6-}{6-}.

The Roller Coaster Continues

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Niall Farrell is back above half a million in chips whereas Gerald Karlic has slipped to only 100k. The Austrian had already lost quite a few chips and then called a bet of 29,000 by Josep Maria Galindo Lopez on the flop {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Marc van Hoof, who just enjoyed a massage, slid forward two towers of T-5,000 chips while announcing all in and both opponents folded.

Satellites Going Crazy!

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Aussie Millions Rings
Aussie Millions Rings

There is a lot of action here in the Crown Poker Room today. Day 2 of the Opening Event is deep into the money and getting ready to go on dinner break at the end of this level. There is a queue forming for Event 3 ($1150 Shootout) at the buy-in booth, the cash games are going off with the jackpot now up over $120,000 and there is a huge Main Event Satellite running across 3 separate areas of the Casino.

Attracting 483 players at $550, with an optional $200 add-on, the "10 Seat Guarantee" event generated a staggering 30 Main Event seats - a record here at Crown. With the prize pool falling just shy of the 30 seats, Casino Manager for Poker David Devine generously threw in the additional $1300 needed to make sure the top 30 all get a seat.

The Satellites have being going nuts in the first few days of the Championship - with the nightly Phase 3 Satellites ($1150 for direct entry into Main Event) generating 8 seats most nights, and the $130/$100 rebuy Satellite good for another 2 every night at 9pm.

With so many avenues to qualify, and so many players already in town for this years Championship, the stage is getting set for a big number for the Main Event. The smart money is starting to lean towards 700+

Neilson Slows Down

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Daniel Neilson
Daniel Neilson

Daniel Neilson's hot run may be over as he's just slipped from the top of the counts losing a three-way all-in pot.

Neilson called Phachara Wongwichit's 100,000-chip shove with the {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}, then called again when Alexandre Thomas came over the top for 160,000 more.

Wongwichit had the {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} and Thomas the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Wongwichit won the main pot to triple up after the board ran out {6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts} giving him top pair. Thomas took the side pot with the tens.

Theissen's Jacks Bust Otto

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

After a raise to 18,000 and the flat call of Eric Theissen as well as the player in the small blind, Ryan Otto moved all in for 210,000 from the big blind. Only Theissen called with the {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} and Otto was behind with the {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. There was no help for the Aussie on a board of {Q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and the almost even stacks were merged, Theissen had him covered.
