Hand #33: Jason Mercier received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #34: Ben Tollerene raised to 55,000 from the button with the {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Fabian Quoss called from the big with the {j-Spades}{9-Hearts} to see a {2-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop. Both players checked, the {7-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, and Quoss checked to Tollerene, who checked behind. Both players then checked the {Q-Hearts} river and Tollerene tabled his hand to win the pot.

Hand #35: Mercier raised to 48,000 from the button and Quoss three-bet to 135,000 with the {a-Spades}{9-Spades} in the small blind. Mercier released.

Hand #36: Tollerene limped the small blind with the {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, Mercier checked his option, and the flop came down {2-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. Tollerene checked his flush draw, Mercier bet 24,000, and Tollerene called to see the {K-Hearts} turn.

Tollerene checked again, Mercier bet 78,000, and Tollerene called. The {J-Spades} river saw Tollerene check and Mercier did the same with his {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, meaning the two chopped the pot.

Hand #37: Mecier limped the small blind holding the {q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, Quoss raised to 70,000 with the {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, and Mercier called to see a {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} flop. Mercier checked, Quoss bet 55,000, and Mercier folded.

Hand #38: Mercier moved all in from the button and took down the blinds and antes.

Hand #39: Quoss raised 55,000 on the button and then folded when Mercier moved all in from the big blind holding pocket sixes.

Hand #40: Tollerene raised the button to 60,000 holding the {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and won the pot.

Hand #41: Mercier limped the button and Tollerene checked his option to see a {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop. Tollerene checked his {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and then folded when Mercier, who held the {10-Spades}{9-Spades}, tossed out a bet of 25,000.

Hands #27-32: Tollerene Minimizes the Damage

Level 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Hand #27: There was no small blind this hand, just Mercier in the big blind. Quoss opened to 50,000 and Tollerene folded, Mercier made the call. The flop came {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Mercier check folded to Quoss' 45,000 continuation bet.

Hand #28: Mercier in the small blind limped in with a total stack of 343,000. Quoss in the big blind had {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and shoved his stack of 2.3 million in. Mercier folded instantly.

Hand #29: Jason Mercier folded the button and Fabian Quoss limped in. Tollerene checked with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and the flop came {J-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Quoss made a bet and Tollerene called, growing the pot to 120,000. The {Q-Diamonds} on the turn saw Quoss bet 75,000 and Tollerene called again. The {6-Hearts} completed the board and Quoss checked. Tollerene checked behind and left the pot to Quoss with {3-Diamonds}{J-}.

Hand #30: Fabian Quoss folded his button and Tollerene asked to see how much Mercier was playing. Tollerene then completed with {K-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Mercier raised to 62,000. Tollerene made the call and they got a flop of {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Tollerene and Mercier both checked. The {7-Spades} hit the turn, pairing Tollerene. Tollerene checked and Mercier bet 74,000 into the 136,000 pot with just 199,000 behind. Tollerene called. {A-Clubs} on the river and Tollerene checked. Mercier thought about it for a bit but checked behind with {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} in the end.

'Tollerene minimized the damage' commentator Randy Lew said.

Hand #31: Jason Mercier in the small blind shoved all in with {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for his last 20 big blinds. Fabian Quoss folded his big blind.

Hand #32: Fabian Quoss limped in from the small blind with {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} again and Ben Tollerene checked with {A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The flop came {A-Spades}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and Quoss bet with his open ended. Tollerene called with his top pair.

The {K-Spades} hit the turn and Quoss and Tollerene both checked. The {Q-Clubs} hit the turn and with 202,000 in the pot Quoss bet 100,000. Tollerene snap called and took down the pot.

Level 17 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Connor Drinan - 4th Place
Connor Drinan - 4th Place

Hand #26 Fabian Quoss raised to 55,000 from the button holding the {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Connor Drinan defended the big blind with the {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The {7-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop saw Drinan check his open-ended straight draw and Quoss bet 75,000 with his nut-flush draw.

Drinan called and then checked after the dealer burned and turned the {9-Clubs}. Quoss, who hit his flush, bet 135,000 and Drinan called to see the {6-Clubs} river. Drinan, who improved to a queen-high flush, led out for 165,000, and Quoss moved all in. Drinan, who only had 292,000 behind, used both of his time extension chips to contemplate the decision.

With literally one second left on the countdown, Drinan called off and discovered the bad news. Drinan took home AU$441,980 for his fourth-place finish, which vaulted him over $8 million in career lifetime earnings.

Sam Greenwood Eliminated in 5th Place (AU$321,440)

Level 16 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Sam Greenwood - 5th Place
Sam Greenwood - 5th Place

Hand #11: Fabian Quoss raised to 40,000 under the gun and Sam Greenwood called from the big blind to see a flop of {j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}, which they both checked. Greenwood then checked the {7-Hearts} turn and Quoss bet 50,000.

Greenwood called and then checked the {2-Clubs} river. Quoss thought for a bit before betting 80,000 and Greenwood, who held the {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, made the call. Quoss showed the {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and won the pot thanks to his kicker.

Hand #12: Connor Drinan raised to 40,000 from the cutoff with the {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Greenwood moved all in for 235,000 from the small blind. Drinan opted to call with additional 195,000 and Greenwood showed the {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, which made him a 59% favorite.

The {j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop was nothing special, and neither was the {4-Diamonds} turn. However, that is when the {9-Diamonds} spiked on the river to put an end to Greenwood's day in fifth place.
