Cates Fires Flop and Turn Against Rossiter

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

From under the gun, Daniel Cates raised to 5,500. Jeff Rossiter made the call from the small blind, and the flop came out {9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Rossiter checked, Cates bet 7,500, and Rossiter called.

The turn was the {J-Hearts}, and Rossiter checked. Cates bet 17,300, and Rossiter folded.

Buddiga Goes the Speed Limit to a Double

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

We're not sure how the action unfolded, but we do know that Pratyush Buddiga was all in preflop from the button for 69,1000 and at risk against Alexander Lynskey, who was in the big blind.

Buddiga: {5-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Lynskey: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

It was a flip, and Buddiga was just looking to hold to stay alive. That's just what he did when the board ran out a safe {2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

O'Dwyer At It Again

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Steve O'Dwyer, currently the number one ranked player in the world and already up almost a million this year after having won the $50,000 High Roller at the PCA, is at it again. He has almost 400,000 in chips, though he said he hadn't really scored a double up. "I just knocked out the player in that seat twice" O'Dwyer said with a smile.

He's still able to lose pots, though they're mostly not that big. Just now he opened to 5,300 from the cutoff and he called Andrew Lichtenberger's 23,400 shove from the small blind. O'Dwyer reluctantly called with {A-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and was dominated by "LuckyChewy"'s {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. Hopes of a high board resulting in a chop vanished after the flop came {8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}. The {6-Diamonds} on the turn and {K-Diamonds} on the river were blanks and Lichtenberger doubled.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Liem Busts MacPhee

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Kevin MacPhee got his chips in the middle holding {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}. His opponent Michael Liem was the proud owner of {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and had MacPhee covered. The board ran out {10-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and even before the river was dealt, MacPhee had already departed the tournament arena.

Sun Sets on Sammartino

Level 10 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Dario Sammatino opened for 20,000 from the cutoff and left himself just 8,500 behind. Action folded to Dzmitry Urbanovich in the big blind, and he thought for a bit before just calling. Urbanovich then moved all in on the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop and Sammartino called off.

Sammartino: {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Urbanovich: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {J-Diamonds} turn have Urbanovich his flush, and he rapped the table to wish Sammartino, who was drawing dead, a good game. The meaningless {6-Diamonds} was put out on the river for good measure, and then Sammartino collected his things and headed toward the exit.
